Even though i believe its a load of crock, im pretty sure hush money and the bikies are able to get their way through the relevant controlling body, whoever it may be.

No, they pay a premium for that license and have to prove a bunch of stuff to liquor licensing. A venue only has to close for 2 hours every 24 hours I believe, though I'm not sure how they get around that.

i just find it intriguing they can justify being open 10pm-3/4 pm the next day and state alcohol is the main reason. even my best sesh on the beers leaves me spent after 10 or so hours

Yep I remember a bar I used to frequent was closed because they were trading excessive hours as both a restaurant (daytime) and bar at night-time. They couldn't justify being known as a bar/restaurant so they had their hours slashed and ended up closing.

Not sure how these places get around the red tape but I'd guess it's to do with being classified as a late night and early morning venue (though you'd think the two would contradict each other).

Only reason why the venues stay open is because they still have the old Liquor Licenses, the ones which give them a 24 hour permit. Honestly places like those are no good, people are getting way to messy there. I didn't realise smashing beers wasnt fun?

Juice? Blowing out? As a WA boy, I'd be lost without urban dictionary...

These clubs sound gross. At best.

I'd sooner just get drunk at a gig. I'm weird.

saturday nights are huge there atm, one of the biggest clubs in melbourne atm. although its another club overtaken by juice and general drug use.
yehh i thought it may have gone through a lull but it seems nothing has changed over the past 4 to 5 years.
Still same old same old ai.

it still is categorised as decent by many and gets a lot of the well known dj's in melbourne. amazing venue and sound system though no denying that

Never went to any, Im assuming they were quality?
Indeed. Always get a great crowd, no kids, the vibe is always electric, no trouble makers at all and the music delivers with the great set of the joint. Its a bit sad that i now only ever go the gigs held there- only because of the venue. Queens bridge was a ripper place to venture out to but the asians on a friday night and bogans on a Saturday couldnt control themselves to not kill anyone.

Went to a couple of pubs before finishing up @ Billboards (something diff) last night.

Was OK, nothing special. Any recommendations for some good clubs down here?

QLD's were top notch early this year. If we have a couple of comparable quality, it would be sweet.

Billboards. Oh dear.

They played a few old song remixes from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nirvana and ACDC that I remember were pretty good.

Am 19. Don't mind any music when I'm drunk, probably couldn't hustle to the techno shit sober.

It is Chief. Chucked in a few ripper old ones though, but they did have the faster beats with them (hence "remixes").
