Re: Best Point Guard?

If Rondo is an option, where's Jameer?

CP3>Rose>Williams (though playing like ass now...how's the Nyets taste?)>Rondo>Westchuck.

Nash is after Williams, Westchuck should be better than Rondo, will probably be one day.... Lawson should be involved. Wall, Rubio and Irving will be one day.

Holiday should garner a mention.

Rondo got an assist for this post.

Re: Best Point Guard?

Its Rose at the moment, as far as who is the best player who plays at PG.

If its "who is the best pure PG" then its CP3, then Nash, then Rondo, then Deron.

Rankings fluctuate based on form though, Deron should be right up there but hes playing with rubbish. Then again, so is Nash but it doesn't hurt him as much cause he's the best playmaker around.

Re: Best Point Guard?

CP3 is the best all round point guard, sure rose scores more but also shoots at an all over worse percentage. CP3 is good defensively in the passing lanes, runs the pick and roll better then anyone (maybe nash) can find the open man anywhere on the court. Can create his own shot aswell as any team mates and statistically is the best clutch player in the NBA.

And for those of you saying Westbrook, he isn't even the best PG on his team

Re: Best Point Guard?

More like a marriage proposal.

As much as the Laker fans love him now, does anyone remember the time when he was labeled by his own fans as the "anti point guard"?

Re: Best Point Guard?

When fully fit I'm going with CP3.

But as of right now it has to be Rose.

Rose
CP3
Rondo
Williams
Westbrook

is how I'd rank them as of right now. D-Will would probably be one spot higher but really suffers from being on a shit team.

Of those not in the poll, Nash still right up there. Would probably have him at 3 or 4 on that list.

Re: Best Point Guard?

i voted rose but currently lowry is pretty much dominating the rest in all around stats and he plays for the worst team of the lot.

Some funny opinions in this thread. Rose should be a two guard? Yeah right.....he's an underrated passer and is suited as a point guard. Rose is a playmaker just not your traditional one. He is an underrated defender as well.

The best pg is CP3 when healthy. Deron Williams would be right up there as well if he wasn't playing with the Nets piece of shit roster. Avery Johnson has him playing at the two for large parts of the game. Deron needs to be at the point at all times.

The best pure pg in my opinion is Nash then Rondo. CP3 is a gifted playmaker but a pure pg relies on setting up teammates more than anything else.

As for Chuckbrook he needs mentoring from a retired point guard such as Stock or
Magic. He doesn't understand his role properly. If he figures it out he's right up there in the top pg discussions.

Not at all. He tries, but isn't very effective. Doesn't close out well on spot ups; and doesn't move his feet well when he's 1-on-1. Also likes to reach and try for chase down blocks.

If he learns how to move laterally on D, he could be incredibly good with his strength and speed. Needs to learn angles on D as well as he knows the angles on O.
