mo cheeks (not as exciting, but was the glue of some very very good sixer teams. great passer, tough defender, always hit that open j.)

jerry west and the big O if you consider them a PG. id think about adding nate 'tiny' archibald to this if you consider him a PG too.

you can raffle the rest.

im surprised that during this discussion on the merits of john stocktons game noone has bothered to mention that hes been one of very few PG's who could/can consistently hit an open 15-20 footer. a very underrated outside shooter. perhaps that comes under fundamentals, a much overlooked part of todays game.

You saw Cousy & Frazier play did you or you just going from what you've read people say about them?

You know, I don't really reckon an pivotal PG is that important to a championship winning side anymore (look at the Bulls/Lakers/Spurs dynasties in the last 10 - 20 years) none of them had what you would call an 'elite' HOF PG did they ???

Also how many titles have Nash and Kidd etc won in their careers ???

How many has John Stockton won?

steve nash is the best PG since Magic! Jason Kidd im beginning to think is overrated and has been his whole career..thoughts?

well I'm glad you waited until the end of his career before deciding that.

I guess once you saw Gary Payton in Miami you finally realised he had been overrated his entire career too? hmm? :p

Nash and Kidd, as good as they were, aren't all-time greats at their position. Jordan, Shaq and Duncan are.

I'm not sure if the Hornets are ready this year, but if Chris Paul can continue to improve (especially his 3pt shot), they'll be perennial contenders. His current season is already better than any season by Kidd or Nash, and by the time he's done I feel he'll definitely be in the discussion for greatest all-time PG (health permitting).

Tony Parker?
bet you love those white boys... :)
Haha, only white guys play PG...

Kidd is. A ring isn't the be all and end all.

I shoot better than Jason Kidd.

He is second to Magic all-time at running the fast break, and he was an incredible defender for a lot of years, but he couldn't run the pick-and-roll and wasn't terribly effective in the half-court due to his rubbish shooting.

Give me Magic, Isiah, Stockton or Payton any day. Kidd is definitely top 10, but when I said all-time great, I meant best 2-3 I guess.

You mean no.1?

Really, Duncan's been a C ever since Robinson left, but if he's viewed as a PF he's the clear-cut best ever.
Based on what?.. What he has on his fingers? On talent there are many better PF's than Duncan.. Not disrespectful to him because he is a superstar and probably top 10 ever PF's but too say he is clear-cut the best over is a joke

You need to watch more Tim Duncan. On talent alone he is miles in front of any other PF.

Barkley is the only guy who comes close, and he sucked defensively. Malone = overrated.
