There is always a lot of talk about best full forwards etc but who are the best ruckman going around in country footy at the moment?
Ryan O'Sullivan in the CMFL is by far the best that I have seen.

Peter Featherston from Irrewarra Beac and Apollo Bay in the CDFL was a great ruckman, big enough to clean you up badly but played a fair game. Has won at least one League Best and Fairest.

Scott Winduss from Daylesford FC, Won 2 Henderson medals (BFL), Vic state rep, interleague rep in the Ballarat FL, Castlemaine grand finalist '99, Castlemaine premiership side '00 , Daylesford premiership side '07 CHFL.

And the guy played alot of 2's games before he cracked a senior game. Overlooked early in his career.

Peter Doherty, multiple league medals, in succession before playing a year of 1's in VFL then went back to Beaufort CHFL and won another league medal. Not overly tall, got alot of the ball.
Matt Brown (The Chief) played at hepburn and Sebastopol in and around Ballarat. Former heavy weight boxer who was hard at ball and man, again not overly tall, very fit and skilled, also may have won a Henderson Medal in BFL.
Tom Gilligan, St Mary's, one of the best tap ruckman in country football.
Another Ruckman that played at Beaufort for a few years also did ok as far as tap work and body work went, didn't get alot of it around the ground but had gun onballers around him so it didn't matter.
Played against Rick Wilde, handy but overpaid and over rated.
Nick Venner was pretty good as was his brother Andrew Venner.

Rick Wilde = Dud.

Didn't know that about the Chief, good call.

Should I add that he was badly injured and lost a part of his foot while at junior level and was still able to dominate.

shannon ginn is a good ruckman and can all around the ground and hes only 17. he plays for the avenal 3rds and is most likely the best ruckman inthe 18s

Craig Clarke from Gembrook Cockatoo in the Yarra Valley Mountain District Football League.

Outstanding tap ruckman and fantastic around the ground. Certainly a loyal clubman too as he has received many better offers to head elsewhere and has stuck with the Brookers.

Used to be a fella that played at Trentham in the late 90's early 2000's
about 6ft 1 i think his name was Mick Tadd nickname was Turk. had one of the best leaps i've ever seen and was brilliant in the air or at ground level.gave away inches at the centre bounces but was rarely beaten. not sure if he still plays. also was named BOG in Woodend s 2002 premiership side

Michael Mcfarlane from st albans in the GFL absolute freak, rucked for the vic country side this year and last.
rick wilde wouldn't be an arse hair of big macca:cool:

Was the difference in a GF against my mob a few years back. Would be great to play with him feeding you the footy.

Is he still playing?
