OK from last seasons trade week.

Which of the following Three, are the best trades?

Please give your reasons.

Brent Prismall to Essendon for Pick 39

Farren Ray to St.Kilda for Pick 31

Rhyce Shaw to Sydney for Pick 46

Tough, all three look to be good trades.

Though we will have to wait and see how the players around those picks turn out.

At this stage, I'd probably say Rhyce Shaw.

That is only really a reflection on Bulldogs... as they could've had the best out of the three players drafted with these picks... Pretty irrelevant.

Best trade going on performance and importance to team this year would be Shaw. Hopefully Prismall being the youngest of them all turns out to be the best trade.

I would say Ray as well but maybe in a few years time i will be saying Prismall

Yes I know I'm biased but i firmly believe the prismall trade was the best. Shaw's trade doesnt contest out of prismall's and ray's but i think prismall will be better in the long term well at least better for us. He was exactly what we needed and we gave away the least for him. I also think that once he gets a full pre-season under his belt he'll really start to make and impact.

I think to make it fair we should be asking neutral supporters which trade they would have rathered for their club so everyone which one would you rather prismall, ray or shaw?

As a neutral supporter who watches plenty of footy i reckon the Shaw deal has been the best. The swans have a knack of making good with traded players and Shaw's run from defence has been awesome. Bit hard to judge Prismal after coming back from a reco but hey, that's the poll and Shaw has been the most beneficial trade. Also take into consideration the pick that was given up for him.

Clearly biased if you think Shaw doesn't even contest. Would be the best performed player of the three this year, and probably the most important to his side. Given that they gave up the worst draft pick too, I'd say that trade is right up there.

Ray is like 2 months older than Prismall? not exactly a couple of years..

im looking at the point of view in how their form was prior to leaving their clubs last year. Shaw was doing a pretty similar roll at the Pies, its just that the Swanns needed a player like him.

Prismall was always a ball magnate at Geelong, but was down the pecking order in an unbelievable midfield group.

Ray on the other hand struggled to cement a spot at the bulldogs, and has gone from a wasted pick, into a genuine B + player in a short time.

Looking back at the end of last year if we had posted who would be the most successful, Ray would have been the last most likely. So for mine, he has been the best trade...

Lets not forget Dawson in all this. Although not a trade, but delisted then placed on a Rookie list, have been the most improved player in the comp/ improved player that has moved clubs.

Rhyce Shaw last by a long way. Running around receiving handballs in the back 50, playing on from kick outs, taking running bounces in the back 50 is not good footy.
I hope/think Prismall will be the best pick up out of the 3, and he's starting to really contribute, but overall, Ray has contributed the most to his team so far.

Farren Ray has been the biggest surprise success.

At the Dogs he looked like just a VFL standard footballer but has flourished as a part of the St.Kilda system.

Shaw and Prismall have been outstanding but both had shown something at their previous clubs where Ray would have probably ended up being delisted or being outside of the Dogs 22.
