I'd hazard the later rounds will be the issue, early on most teams looking the same the small differences will be easy enough to get different scores.

Later on with more variety (albeit less people alive) is when there'd be a chance of a draw. From there you could use previous weeks score/overall ranking.

That at least protects a stronger team having one bad week.

Maybe Tomorrow is it too late to extend the number of players in this? Looks like there's still a bit of interest. What if you had, say, 35 instead of 25? Eliminate two per week for the first 10 weeks? Just spitballing ideas here. Afterall, you are the organizer. Don't know how much time and effort it needs.
