T20 BFFCL Season 1 FINAL West Coast Whales vs Melbourne Bolts @Optus Stadium

Awesome stuff Whales!! What a way to win a premiership!! Always good to bat first in a T20 game so I was surprised we were sent in on our home deck. Nice stuff by JT_the_Man to get us off to a quick start before Van_Dyke and Kirkswan took over with a very strong and quick partnership to get us to a very good total. A late cameo from fitzroybowiedog with lusty hitting from iBeng got us to a big score.

The bowling didn't look great early with myself and Quadzilla copping some punishment in the powerplay and things weren't looking great after seven overs. However, our middle overs bowling team of Wooshette, eth-dog, Shermy and fitzroybowiedog bowled pretty tightly, forcing up that required run rate which is crucial when you aren't taking wickets. Slowly but surely things started to get tougher and eth-dog's wicket was a big turning point in the game. Happy myself to come back for my my fourth over and pick up a couple of wickets and also only give away a handful of runs too.

Well done to Kirkswan on being named Player of the Match, a great achievement and one that backs up a number of strong performances in previous games. It's certainly something you can look back on with pride. :thumbsu:

In the end, it has been a great season for us as a club and we have put in some fantastic team efforts in the seven matches we have contested over the course of the season. To finish this season as premiers is a fantastic achievement and one we can all be proud of plus to do it in the newly launched BFFCL's first season back is superb as well.

Looking forward to partying hard tonight as the BFFCL T20 Champions!! Go Whales!! :thumbsu:

Thanks very much Ljp86 but yiu forgot your contribution of two wickets in a match where they were very hard to come by!
 
Simply too good Whales. We had the better side all season and came out on top. Fantastic win.
 
I contributed, that's all that matters.

Bad luck Bolts, ripper season, had the two best bats in the comp as well as two of the top 5 bowlers. Cockarfitt you cheating dog, you should've walked first ball, I'm still convinced your averages were entered at 99 or some shit like that ;)

Thanks for a great season everybody, akkaps, Fizzler, SarahSmiles and iBeng all did fantastic jobs as club captains and made this comp run really smoothly.

Up the ****ing WHALES, we don't have a team song so I guess we can just start drinking instead?

Bring on the One Dayers and Tests!!
