Have East gone to another level this year or have Lakers dropped off a bit?

Bit of column A bit of column B.

Ball movement was a slick as ever, but think the impact of Koderenko being limited will be interesting going forward.

Lakers looked like deers in the headlights at stages and East were able to punish their mistakes.

Can anyone confirm that Heath Scotland has gone in for surgery today and will be out for some time?
I think he’s had an operation, but not sure on severity of injury. Probably not ideal. By all early reports he was flying preseason.
Can’t wait for the Grand Final rematch in a few weeks. Only early but will let us know where both are at.

Big blow for Darley, although seemed to get over Sunbury ok without B Graham and Scotland.

Will be a huge clash, all three games last season were pretty close. East looked like they picked up from where they left of last season if not improved even more with some new faces. Melton had a bit more of a battle with South, but could have won by a much bigger margin if they kicked straight.

Has anyone else had problems viewing the BFL website? I am only getting '404' messages.
Surely they could have done any website updates in the off-season you'd have thought.
I've had a look and can access the site without any issues.

Ballarat vs Redan this arvo should be a good contest, it'll be interesting to note how influential Lachie George is first up.

Lachie George showed his pure class in the 2nd quarter Jet and looked a level beyond everyone else as Redan looked better all game. I see Dean Chester doesn't move too far from the goals these days. He still has a fair leg on him though!

Cheers Silver Tongue.
George would be a decent shout for the Henderson if he's available all year.
Bell & Chester have been champions for Redan, the next generation could certainly have worse players to learn from.
With the reigning Premiers up next it's a tough assignment for Ballarat but it'd be good to see them bounce back strongly.

Now that you have to subscribe to read anything BFL on the courier website, can anyone tell me where I can read the sides ?

Anyone see the eastpoint Melton game? 40point win at Melton. Must have stepped it up

Definitely look a really slick unit and are the team to beat.

Melton having denham out and Archard go down early didn't help the cause, but East Point too good overall. Going to take some beating this year.

Yep was a pretty flat game. Marsh fought it out till the end. Not sure where either side is at, probably both a bit far off the pace. Darley had Billy Myers playing which was a surprise. Anyone know if he’s there for good?
Yes agree, ordinary game which Darley controlled, Darley had a lot of players down & still won. When you play ordinary & still win, I think its a positive for the winning team. I wouldn't be surprised if Darley won by 15 goals next week. Darley has around six very good senior players to come into the side, they played six under eighteen players on the wend, which is a great sign for the club moving forward. I'm not taking anything away from the Marsh as they were good & will be very competitive this season. Burton controlled the ruck & was instrumental in three quick goals in the third quarter. Some of their smaller players are very quick & very good.
