So Darley get a home final for finishing 6th is this the league chasing extra $$$
The league not chasing extra dollars playing the marsh and Sunbury at eastern oval. Can't work out their logic. If it was at Darley the crowd would nearly double. Darley, Melton and South supporters won't bother going up there when they have no sides in.

100 % correct Downtroden, it's a no brainer!

Credit to Redan, just cleaner with their use.
The rest of the finals should be interesting, Marsh will have gained a lot of confidence from their performance - on the other hand can the Lakers bounce back?

Darley is not available Saturday because it's booked for the junior vote count day

Wasn't at the game Saturday, but heard Darley came out very physical and tried to unsettle Alik Magin. Much in the blew at half time ?

Dissapointing this weeks at Eastern Oval not Darley Park.

Hard to see Lakers coming back from that drubbing. Scoreline actually flattered them as the Cobras didn't capitalise on the amount of ball they had inside 50. Very impressive performance from a team I didn't really believe were capable of winning the flag, until Saturday that is. Will take some beating. Drought might be about to break for the Marsh.

Only positive from Lakers perspective was young Buckwell. Again. Simply too good for Cupido. Didn't have a lot of mates though.

Darley don't muck around. Heath Scotland appointed as the new coach

So Darley go for a high profile non-playing coach. Should be a drawcard to retain and attract players, with their injuries this year you’d have to expect a big bounce in form in 2017.
Doesn’t the salary cap come in to the BFL next year? I thought we may have seen a host of playing coaches appointed for next year, just to maximize the value of the spend under the new cap system. I just think if the club cap is $150k next year and you spend $20k to $30k on a non-playing coach that’s a big slice of the pie spent outside the boundary line.
So that leaves Redan, Ballarat and EastPoint yet to appoint their new coach, not sure of the coaching status at Melton Sth. and Nth Ball.

I may be wrong but I thought Burke was at North Ballarat for 2 years

Now that Darleys season is over . Can we reflect on just what was the go with Mitch Banner ?? Recruited on huge dollars given his CV and AFL/state level experience. I thought, and probably a few posters on here thought he would tear the Comp a new one in the midfield. But spent most of the year in the forward pocket ??? Was he carrying an injury ? This was a bloke who last year was in the VFL team of the year and the year before that averaged 27 possies a game in the WAFL and finished 7th in the standover medal ... Will he be Darley next year ?

Non-playing coaches do not have their salary included under salary cap, whilst playing coaches have 50% of contract included in salary cap

It'll be interesting to see whether he stays on down there next year.
He was probably the biggest name recruit over the off-season but his output was probably a bit lower than expected.

Won't be at Darley. Scotland I believe may play, will be a 1 pointer which is more than handy. If they retain everyone and have better luck with injuries will start one of the premiership favourites. Some big name recruits to be announced, will be great for this boring league.

Melton next year will see a similar rise like Bacchus this year.

Darley haven’t had much success at U16 or U18 over the past few years but have done well investing in getting experience into some of their 16 to 19-year olds. Cameron, Pepi, Thacker, Young, Barnes and Butters have all played multiple games in the senior team this year, if they add more quality experienced players….. Scotland has had a solid base set for him. Not many Ballarat clubs could make the same claim, maybe Sebas and Ballarat through necessity.

Bacchus way too good today, the first quarter was pivotal. Cupido cut loose and punished Sunbury when I counted. Sunbury look to give up 10 minutes into the last. To be honest I can't see Sunbury beating lakers or redan next week. As for tomorrow's match, both with some interesting ins and outs and with the intensity of the games the have had against each other this year, I think it will come down to who settles into the game first. However in saying that you could say the lakers settled early last week and couldn't play a full 4 quarters. Redan were kept in the match last week due to poor kicking in front of goal, and I think will require similar fate this week. Word is the Pring will play to provide another spark, and Robertson to play ruck, will need a monster effort to get his mids the first use. Lakers for me but not by much.

Sunbury or Redan win flag

Lakers got home in the last quarter, had more run in the second half. Redan lost 2 players before half time and laker also lost 1 in the third I think. Not great seeing spectators jumping the fence to get into a fight. Honestly, lakers were off the mark for much of the game. Still will need to find more next week when they play Sunbury.

What part of the game was this fight ? And was it redan or lakers supporters involved ?
