Is it a case of a champion team will beat a team of champions. Melton into a GF with 1 recruit really. If they can win it what an achievement that will be with only 1 player rated above 1 point. What has been the turnaround at that club? Is it the coach??
The coach would have a fair bit to do with it mate. They are totally united and appear to be a very even team. Amazing what you can achieve when each player plays his role and is totally committed to the team plan.

Looking forward to this weeks matchup. I'm expecting East Point to respond but will be a great clash with a fired up Darley in a true 50/50 battle. Think the loss of number 46 for EP is a massive one and you could tell he was missed on the weekend.

I think when Darley beat them in the last round East had a few out, and they will be expecting those quality players to perform. Darley seem to be hitting form at the right time of the year. Grenfell looks like he has dropped a couple of KGs and has his zip back and with graham and Kennedy running wild they will test any side.
No.46 is Rotumah-Onus, a tough onballer who wins the hard ball and is a key for them. Was a late out, not sure why and if he is a chance to play this week.

East were the far better side yesterday, it felt like they actually lifted their game to finals level after being quite mediocre for their first two. They will smack Melton in the GF. As for Darley they looked really sore and was an amazing effort to finish where they did in the end. East v West.

How did the ground hold up and was there much in the half time incident or blown out of proportion? Few different versions of events doing the rounds.

Ground was good considering difficult weather conditions. Didn’t get a great view of the incident but only heard the Darley version that a spectator confronted them coming off the field at half time. He went to Kur first and hopefully it wasn’t anything racial. But again maybe blown out of proportion, the bloke was kicked out and nothing further happened.

From what I saw the bloke in the Hi-Vis was giving some lip from behind the fence as Darley were walking off. Kur didn't like what he heard and walked through the gate and then veered 10 meters to the bloke and chested him. The bloke then gave some more lip to other blokes coming off and Brian Graham jumped the fence where the bloke was and got in his face. The bloke then started throwing some fists and it escalated from there with a number of people coming in to impact the situation. Both parties at fault.

Unfortunately Darley have found themselves in two very unsavoury incidents

That's how I saw it too - piss poor from all involved.

There needs to be seperate gates for teams to run through at city oval. Both sides are using the same gate that’s about 1metre wide. And change rooms are right next to each other. Therefore supporters are too. All recipes for disaster.

Hero supporters behind a fence. They should just shut up and not provoke players especially during the breaks. Totally unacceptable in my opinion..

Not a fan at all of people behind the fence lipping off at players but if every player reacted to something that was said to them during a game there wouldn't be a lot of football being played. All the players would be punching on in the crowd.

Understand that mate but when the siren goes at the breaks the players should be able to go to the huddle or rooms without idiots approaching or yelling abuse.
Or just fence areas off and don’t allow spectators onto the ground. But why wreck it for the good people because of a couple of di&&head coward supporters.

Unfortunately it was racial. Graham heard it and went into bat for his teammate. Supporter was the father of an east point player. What would everyone on here done? Walked the other way?

If that's the case then it is ordinary and the bloke involved will no doubt cop a ban from the footy and a fair amount of humiliation. Easy to say, but walking the other way and just pointing out the offender to officials at the ground is the best course of action. It would have had the same result - the peanut getting kicked out and an investigation, but now the conduct of the Darley players will also be subject to that investigation. They know if they put a foot wrong people will jump all over them, just walk away boys.

Racial abuse cannot be condoned at any level in our society. I can understand Graham taking umbrage to racially motivated abuse of a teammate but it isn't a great look look in a footy game. Piss poor effort from the so-called footy supporter.

Doesn't help that the rooms are 30m away from the ground either, it's a long walk through the crowd. Not sure why they didn't realign the ground to be much closer to the change rooms.

We will see, if Melton continue to tackle and pressure the way they have been you might be very surprised.

Definitely think East Point go in favorites. Have been best team all year and showed good form on the weekend. Don't think Melton should be counted out though. Have some really quality talls which can defend Easts talls fwds well and have some quality forwards which can stretch East's defence. The game will be decided in the midfield and who is harder at the contest.

Should be a cracker. Best offense vs best defence in the comp.

No thoughts from the so called experts will worry Melton. They have been outstanding all year and certainly have been totally underrated and even written off by the pundits. If they continue doing what they have done all year playing disciplined and team oriented footy they are a big chance on Saturday. I have not seen for a long time a team be as close and work so well together - a champion team can beat a team of champions. East Point certainly have more big names but that can only carry a team so far. Saturday should be a cracker!
