At the start of the BBL i was excited about our batting lineup. I didn't know much of Pope as a T20 player but his credentials at test level looked good. Unfortunately, as a team the batting line has failed. I was more worried about the bowling.
Last night aside, the Strikers have failed.

I wonder how plausible it is to throw big money (in BBL terms) at someone like Ashton Agar. He'd fit the exact gap in the current squad. And there's essentially zero chance of him being unavailable during the Ashes.

The Strikers top order is nominally strong. But they haven't batted very deep at all this tournament. Thornton regularly bats at 8 and he's very much a specialist bowler.

Tom Andrews just hit 37* off 13 for the thunder. Bowled handy left-arm orthodox all season. Ex-Striker/redback and plays District cricket locally.

He could have been a good discount option that slipped through the fingers.
