I'm not one for hyperbole but seriously this guy amazes me. It's not the things you would expect him to do that does it's the little intrinsic things that you wouldn't expect. I just have no potential ceiling I could place on him.....if he stays no better it's amazing.....if he keeps improving then I just don't know how far up he can go.

He just has smarts, that's what I like.
Football smarts.
And his height, reach, his nous

I reckon NOT having prior experience might just be an advantage for him in this current day.

It's something talked about a lot by coaches, often the new guys with no bad habits are the easiest ones to coach as they come with a blank slate you can easily mould... most draftees come to clubs already with 10 years of habits that most will never get out of.

The beauty is he knows nothing about what a bloke his size is supposed to be capable of....he just does.

But how do you have those smarts 2nd year in?

I'm going to try to reign myself in because maybe I'm getting too hopeful.
Likely he is sports smart in general, likely he is a "natural" for our game,
And maybe he works super hard

He is a highly intelligent fellow anyway

Correct.
Bad habits from childhood eg dropping ball wrong, may not be coached out.

Also, IIRC, because he's category B, we can keep him on our rookie list for 3 years and pay him outside of the salary cap?
Yep, i think that's right too. It's like we got handed a lottery ticket for free, and when we checked it a few weeks while buying a paper start seeing zeros everywhere.
