Points! Another one I wish I was wrong about. Gibson was a fantastic pitcher to watch, except, of course, when he pitched against the Cubs. Another great from my youth gone. Memory eternal.

Baseball Hall of Famer Bob Gibson died Friday at age 84, the St. Louis Cardinals confirmed to ESPN.
Gibson, who was born in Omaha, Nebraska, played all of his 17 MLB seasons with the Cardinals, from 1959-75.
Gibson announced in July 2019 that he had pancreatic cancer.

Bob Gibson pitched for the Cards from when I was 7 until the year I moved here in 1975 when I turned 23. So many baseball players from my youth have died this year. Even the Bears' Gayle Sayers' death hits home too closely. :(
