You have one sub spot so ensure you have that written down.ClarkeM
What happens if posters who have already entered for next season have one or two of their picks croak it before 2023 is out ?
Are they able to have replacement picks in the event of that ? (This is partly why I haven't submitted my 2024 list yet)
You have one sub spot so ensure you have that written down.
Yeah I’ve got mine pretty well sorted, although one on my new list died this week but already found a replacement (god that sounds awful)Good to know. Still going to wait till after Christmas before I do my list. Have a feeling there is going to be a massive/big name dying in the days before Xmas.
Looks like I'm going to have a full squad left from this year, can I just roll over the same team for next year? There is grey area here because the answer is both Yes and No. It depends on the example. I would encourage you to PM me (but don't title the PM as "Death List" as I won't view that until I've settled on my own list which might be late December).
Your example, Kardashian Family, this Wiki page refers to the wider family so this would be a NO (however we all know every Kardashian has their own page).
They must have a personal wiki under their name/alias or, if necessary, a page dedicated to them specifically in the title. As an example of a fair nomination:
Ronnie and Donnie Galyon - Wikipedia - I had this pick a few years back and it's fine as the page is under their name.
Bonnie and Clyde - Wikipedia - If they were alive, this would also be fine as the page is once again in their name.
And this is an example of a nomination which does not count:
"Kasim Khan" per Family of Imran Khan - Wikipedia
- Kasim doesn't have a dedicated page and thus, not eligible.
I think at the end of the day, any curly ones can be sent straight to me for a decision.
The Wiki rule has never been perfect but it has to exist with some level of grey area.
No,I'm not typing it out again,I'll passSure, but you'll still need to PM me with the list in full
Rule XII (The Adam Scott Rule): To ensure clarity regarding the spelling of names and confusion with shared identities (and in an effort to ease the workload collating the list data), this rule now requires all players to provide hyperlinks of the Wikipedia Page when nominating their list. Should a user ignore this rule, whenever a proposed celebrity shares the name of one or more other celebrities, and no clarification is made, I as host will decide which of them is in play. Be a trooper and send the links please! When submitting your list, please use the BigFooty provided "ordered list" in the toolbar above the textbox to help you keep track of 20 nominations.
I was like you once where I was like "**** that, I'm not linking all 20 names" but when I came to hosting it, you should have seen just how much work had to go into cleaning up people's lists to enable the Google Sheet to work to full effect and then too, to ensure that we have the right person.Do you need the hyperlinks in your entry DM if it is clearly obvious who the person is?
no worries mateI was like you once where I was like "* that, I'm not linking all 20 names" but when I came to hosting it, you should have seen just how much work had to go into cleaning up people's lists to enable the Google Sheet to work to full effect and then too, to ensure that we have the right person.
A key example of this happened this week. 17 people have "Jonnie Irwin" on their list. A Jonnie Irwin died this week. But not the Jonnie Irwin (I believe) all 17 people had (including me) so no points. If I had links, it will be black and white but instead I have to live in the grey a bit.
Sometimes it's not obvious, sometimes it is, but rather than have the host have to go through 50*20+ names on Wikipedia, check eligibility, and confirm the name of the person, it would just be a massive help if you could and everyone could provide links to their list please please please.
I'm not going to deny a list with no links, there's contingency in that regard per the rule above but yeah, if you could please help me so when I get to late December and I have settled on my own list first before I begin collating everyone's PM's then it'll be a massive help.
FYI For anyone having difficulties. Copy the page from your browser and in Excel add link to the text and it's automated for you. Just click the add link and you're done.I was like you once where I was like "* that, I'm not linking all 20 names" but when I came to hosting it, you should have seen just how much work had to go into cleaning up people's lists to enable the Google Sheet to work to full effect and then too, to ensure that we have the right person.

Use BF's list function as follows:Hey ClarkeM, any chance you could post an example of your preferred format before the drop dead date? (lol)
I ask because I seem to remember posting my list last year in the exact format you asked not to, and I'm using the same source document (just swapping out Pell for some other douchebag the world would be better off without) so I'm likely to do the same again.

This made me laugh out loud at work lolYeah I’ve got mine pretty well sorted, although one on my new list died this week but already found a replacement (god that sounds awful)
