He's been on my list for a few years, so as morbid as it is to say, I would have got points for last year and had my sub come in for this year - and guessing my sub is on a few lists

Honestly thought he was talking about Black Bart. I don't think James Whale was ever a risk. Was discharged on the 30th.

There's been some years that I've started with approx 100 names, before cutting it down to around 40 and then the final 20

This year I started with 50 - decided to cut anyone aged over 90 as a starting point, and then got down to a shortlist of 26

Hoy was one of those 26 and while we all know things can change, things were reading more positive from recent reports compared with a months ago so I opted to not put him in my final 20

Many those high profile celebrity terminal diagnoses need to be put on ice for a couple of years after the initial announcement. James Whale, Linda Nolan, James van der Beek, etc. It's when you stop hearing about them that they're high risk.

If doctors give 6months to live its usually 3 years. Then they miraculously recover. But I mean thats good

Can't wait for 2027 when Dave Blunt's wiki page makes him eligible.

Hope he survives that long, mind you he'll be on everybody's list and it won't mean much in the final points tally

• celebrities with X/Y/Z illnesses
• death lists for 20??, and get ideas from folks across the globe

A few games do seem to use a rule of "no children permitted to be submitted as part of entries"

I could imagine lists would almost become a type of hitlist instead, likely full of politicians and other questionable public figures
