14 players with squads of 40. Going to be an EPIC draft.
Is it still Thursday night or did it get moved to Wednesday? I would hate to end up with a squad of injured hacks because I missed the draft haha
EDIT: Any chance we can get the draft order up ASAP? I have 2 basic 'gameplans' that revolve around where my picks are placed. It would be a massive help if we all knew how deep we have to reach with our early picks eg. pick 1 and then nothing until pick 28...

Ditto, on needing to know the order and categories.
One suggestion for category based scoring is to remove the Frees For and Frees Against categories. In every one of the last 3 seasons that I've played UF the people I've played with have bemoaned the inclusion of the free kick categories. They're basically pot-luck and have far too much sway in whether you win or lose.
Really need to get the categories locked down, especially for a keeper league, as it'll have implications in seasons going forwards. It'll be difficult to get a consensus to add/remove categories in future seasons. Much easier to decide before the draft.

Draft order has been determined for now. I'm not going to change the current scoring system. Draft is still on Thursday until further notice.

So where do we find the draft order?
Is it how the teams are listed on the ladder? When I opened it up Team LWP was number 1 so does this mean Ive got the first pick?

if it is in "pre season draft" and the ladder on the right with your draft pick, I am 2

Hi Unknown my team name is obviously richcogs, thought it would be easier. Just wondering the other day I was 5th in the pre draft ranking and now I am 13th, did you change it again? It completely changes my strategy.

Yeah, I randomised the order when the last team joined. So now you're picking 13th.
can I suggest reverting back to original squad size of 45? With 14 teams you need a bigger squad, as the depth isn't there - quantity over quality! it also adds more strategy for future seasons being able to have a few future stars on your list before their 'time'.
I am for it. It will be very hard but lets do. Live drafts are so much fun. I wish there was a live message feed as well!It will make waivering less common and trading a lot more active, which is a great part!
Also unknown I reckon PM all the participants tomorrow morning and make sure everyone is present. If they are not they should not even bother with this league. Just that they will end up having a team substantially worse than the rest of us and just lose interest.

Yea I am cool with that, The live draft is great. How is it going to function. 20-30 seconds to decide?
Geez having trouble deciding how I am going to play my first 2 picks!

I've set it to 2 mins per pick, but hopefully most don't take all that time.
As mentioned earlier, I won't be there for the start of the draft. I have footy training until about 8pm so will rush home and hopefully only miss my first few picks. For that reason, the 2 mins suits me well, especially if everyone can take is slow 
What if people are not present at draft time? Will it automatically select the pick or wait the 2 minutes. That would drive me crazy. I personally think 60 seconds should be enough.

45 picks with 2 minute limits is just way too long.
Thats 675 picks.
Even if we're pretty speedy and take forty-five seconds per pick, that's over eight hours!
My preference is forty picks with a 1 minute limit. That should cut the average pick time to about 30 seconds and get us done sometime between midnight and one am.

Yea the first pick the all important one. I know exactly who I would go for pick one. To me it is a toss up of about 5 players though.
Pick 13 I have narrowed down to 5 players, hope at least one of them will drop to there and at pick 16 down to 5 as well and I reckon at least 2 of them will be there.
Hey Drew, I have pre-draft rankings to. Is it automatically going to select my players even if I am online? Otherwise I will abolish the rankings. It didn't on NHL fantasy, so hoping it won't on Ultimate Footy either.
