It would run like the English FA cup in soccer where everyone plays another team head to head and the winner progresses until one team is remaining.

You would have to be part of the BigFooty Divisions to play so that you couldn't cheat by lying about what you scored.

Is anyone interested in playing this?

Hmmmm at first I laughed. But could be really good.
Say the first 8 divisions only then there would be 128 people.

Round 16- 128
Round 17- 64
Round 18- 32
Round 19- 16
Round 20- 8
Round 21- 4
Round 22- 2

Could work really well.

EDIT: Or were you thinking not in consecutive rounds - 1,4,7,10,13,16,19,22 etc.

whatever everyone thinks will work best

like the idea of the first 8 divisions, will work, just need someone from each division to be the passer on of scores :thumbsu:

So 128 People (8 Divisions)

I'd put forward the schedule of Rounds 4,7,10,13,16,19,22
But who verses who?

Where is rota69 and Kildonnan (sorry for the spelling, I'm sure that's wrong :p).

it would be randomly generated draw. i would assign each team a number a use a random number generator to determine who played who.

i like the staggered rounds approach, keeps interest all the way through the season.

Yep, sounds very good.

So completely random? A person in the first league can verse someone else in the first league. Just checking here :p:thumbsu:

This sounds like such a good idea, can't wait haha.
Will be hard to find out opposition teams unless they are in your league too :D
 
wat if in brackets next to the player in the draw (eg round 4) we have an average of wat they have scored in teh first 3 rounds so we got a rough idea wats going on

Problem 1) Week 1 - order of ranking

Player listed on top of div 1 plays player listed on the bottom of div 8
Player listed second of div 1 plays second bottom listed team div 8
Etc....
Player listed on top of div 2 plays player listed on the bottom of div 7
Player listed second of div 2 plays second bottom listed team div 7
Etc....
Player listed on top of div 3 plays player listed on the bottom of div 6
Player listed second of div 3 plays second bottom listed team div 6
Etc....
Player listed on top of div 4 plays player listed on the bottom of div 5
Player listed second of div 4 plays second bottom listed team div 5
Etc....

Is that fair?

In the event of a draw, the lower ranked team wins

I think we'll list the 32 pairs, 16 pairs, 8 pairs, quarter finalists, semi finalists and Grand Finalists

i was just going to do a completely random draw, i don't like the idea of 1st in div 1 playing bottom div 8 etc...

yeah i like the idea of a completely random draw as well. This is gonna be a lot of fun. the winner can be crowned king (or queen) of Big Footy Dreamteam!!

I don't mind if it's random or what you have stated. I'd probably prefer what you stated, but a random draw wouldn't be so bad either.
 
Sounds like a great idea, I think a radom draw would be much better.

In the event of a draw, teams should play off again the next week, FA Cup style, with the staggered rounds allows for the replayed games.
