This year we are pushing again for a top finish several competitions, long way to go but sitting second is a step in the right direction in SuperCoach. What makes it even more satisfying is that we continually do it with only 36 coaches divided between 2 leagues only......I know a few so called 'Elite' forums ranked up there, maybe even currently leading have there members spread between numerous leagues maximizing coverage and hedging there bets, which is great if you like that

Anyway, interested in hearing from a few private leagues like YSCC, FFCU and others who continually strive to be #1 and how closely you watch the competition around you.

Would be great if Herald Sun had a prize for the #1 league as i reckon this would create some additional healthy competition.

Agree having a prize for the number one league would be great. I also love the idea of setting up a premier league between the various sites. DTTalk (they do SC as well), Bigfooty, SC paige, SCS, SCC, and others i don't know. Each site should enter their number 1 league and put up some cash.

Personally, I have been a poster on here in the past, and now reside over on SCC (formerly YSCC) after they accepted me into their elite group. All i can add on your comment of duel league membership and 'so called elite forums' is that you are doing SCC (and the AAs league) a disservice. The AAs league has 18 individual teams and is SCCs best 18 players and represents the site as its number one elite team. The other leagues (KKs and JJs) are constructed to a different ruleset for a number of reasons, one of them being restricted membership to the elite group. This alone ensures some members are doubled up not to cheat but to ensure full, strong competitive leagues within our own social group. If it helps you personally, only recognize the AAs league as a bonafide league and feel free to ignore the achievements of the other leagues like the KKs or JJs (partners/friends). If it helps, i'm a member of the KKs league and no other SCC league.

If you still fill the need to ridicule some of the reasons, let's not ignore the fact that you too are a member of multiple Bigfooty leagues. What happens next year when the Magpies Bigfooty Div 1 hit the top 20 league teams along with SCE Div 1? Do i need to come on here and bleat about duel league membership and discredit everything? Of course not, I'll just respect a strong year across your multiple or duel entered leagues. Let me guess, it is ok for you to have a reason for a second league like the Magpies league but not for SCC members to have a partners and friends league (JJs).

Now, let's stop disrespecting a great achievement so far by the SCC group and instead look to putting our balls on the line for next year. I can arrange 1k and either 10 or 18 SCC members to go up against whatever you have. You got anything real?

Well said and appreciate your honesty. I must say that we do acknowledge that SCC are a super group which is consistently shown by the high rankings in a number of SC leagues. I guess our beef has been with the openness and transparency, or lack there of, on exactly how the individual leagues are made up. We have had numerous occasions over the years where a certain member, hasn't been as open. It's very black and white for us in SCE, 36 Coaches, 2 leagues and that's it. No doubling up on internal SCE leagues. We only permit our members to join other leagues if they are team boards or friends so no real conflict there.

As for you being concerned about the Big Footy Div1 Magpies team doing well in the future, don't you worry about that as we always rank well and are sitting in 10th overall currently.

I'll be honest, I don't and think many in SCE don't have a problem with SCC, we certainly respect you guys but really just wanted to know how you manage your leagues in terms of coaches spread across multiple.

NT.Thunder - what is the process for whom is selected as the 36 coaches for SCE?
and as you kinda represent the greater BF community how can we track your progress?
One thing that drives me mad is we cannot see which teams make up these leading leagues. As a resource tool this would be ideal to help improve others, thus creating a stronger more formidable league base to draw from

toxic Yeah good point but I guess there is some reasoning behind this for some of the serious leagues pushing for that #1 spot.

I could talk to Axe and the others in our SCE group to see if we can post our leaderboard maybe in this thread to track our progress, i personally don't have a real problem with this; however i can understand why some may. Within each of these so called elite groups there is some pretty solid discussion into teams, players, draws, injuries, suspension, opposition Fantasy teams etc and it's enivitable that to some degree a level of group think may exist. We try and minimise it; however such is human nature that my belief is you can't wipe it out totally. Now why is this an issue, well it make for other leagues and teams watching you closely to strategise and cover opposition leagues and coaches over the tail end of the season and with 40 points seperating the top 2 leagues this is crucial. I know this was a big part of the success to @impromtu win a couple of season's ago.

Any way, the easiest would be to look at the BF group league and look for any teams with SCE at the end but I'll see what we can do on here.

As for the selection of the 36 coaches. Well believe it or not there is a decent amount of turnover within the group at the end of the season due to work & family commitments etc, it takes a lot of time out of our days and some of us are posting pretty much 24/7. That's what we look for 1st, quality posters who understand the game and understand fantasy football. We're happy to take guys who havent set the world on fire in results noting that we can mentor and drive some guys to a level once engaged in a private forum but it's essential for new guys coming on board to be proven quality posters. That said as much as you don't see a lot of us on the mainboards, we are constantly watching and seeking out new recruits for the end of the year. We don't take applications or anything silly like that, we ascertain how many we need at seasons end and put together a list of guys who may fit our model and take a vote internally. Not sure how SCC and DTTalk or FFC do this but imagine it's pretty similar.

I'll be honest, it's a great posting forum with some outstanding coaches. A number of winners of these various competitions and a great mix of guys. We have gotten together a couple of times for beers but not as much as we should.

Hope that clears up a little and happy to take some questions if it helps others in here understand what we do.

I just thought IF theres enough peeps we/you's could have 2 leagues one premier league and one div2(vegieleague).Top few teams in div 2 go up to premier league like the scoccer the the few spud team drop down.
