Alright. This week I started figuring the standings after half time of the Monday Night Football game. By that time, a Miami victory was secure. Sucks to be me, and have a ****weak top end. 11 correct picks and 68 points to show for it. Freakin' upsets. Now I have Winston standing behind me in line with a hard on. ;)

Schedule Week 9

Teams out on the bye: Kansas City *cough* 8-0 *cough*, Buffalo, Cleveland, Tennessee

Sunday, 2 November 2003

Jacksonville Jaguars at Baltimore Ravens
San Diego Chargers at Chicago Bears
Washington Redskins at Dallas Cowboys
Oakland Raiders at Detroit Lions
Carolina Panthers at Houston Texans
Indianapolis Colts at Miami Dolphins
New York Giants at New York Jets
New Orleans at Tampa Bay
Cincinnati Bengals at Arizona Cardinals
Pittsburgh Steelers at Seattle Seahawks
Philadelphia Eagles at Atlanta Falcons
St. Louis Rams at San Francisco 49ers
Green Bay Packers at Minnesota Vikings

Monday Night Football, 3 November 2003

New England Patriots at Denver Broncos

Some thoughts:

Can Parcells get the 'Boys to rise to the rival? The Pack and Vikes are supposed to split, but the Pack is also supposed to lose at the Triple H Metrodome (then again, the Vikes were supposed to spank the Giants). Certainly Oakland can beat the Lions? Bengals and Cards? Do the Steelers really suck? Are the Seahawks posers? Giants at Jets? How do they really know who the home team is?

I don't know if I'll do that well myself this week.

Peace & Good Luck,

PS: *cough* KC 8-0 *cough*

Only cos there's a Griese @ QB once again for the Fins

You'd be better off with his old man - as is. Ask Denver. Then again, he's probably better than Jake Plummer. :D

Wasn't that a beast of a hit? Green isn't speedy enough to be a great scrambler, but he (most of the time) makes good decisions, can throw down range, and is good for 1.5 blocks a year. I love him.

My other favorite plays of the game, were the back-to-back blitz sacks on Bledsoe. I don't think I've ever seen such a flood get straight to the QB. Certainly not twice, when the Offense knows it is coming. Beautiful.

Good luck to your Phish this week. I think I'll be tipping Indy, but hoping they lose. I'd like to see a quality running back tear them up. It's not too early to be thinking about the AFC playoffs you know. ;)

Peace,

14 - Minnesota Vikings
13 - Baltimore Ravens
12 - New York Giants
11 - Carolina Panthers
10 - Seattle Seahawks
9 - Philadelphia Eagles
8 - Dallas Cowboys
7 - Chicago Bears
6 - St. Louis Rams
5 - Oakland Raiders
4 - Miami Dolphins
3 - Cincinnati Bengals
2 - Denver Broncos
1 - New Orleans

Will post my picks early-- I may not get to it otherwise, since my mother-in-law appears to have had a stroke, and we may have to head to Geelong this weekend as soon as we hear of confirmation from the hospital.

I won't hijack this weekly thread on that topic; if anyone wants to say anything about it, feel free to PM or e-mail me.

My tips...

14 - New England Patriots at Denver Broncos
13 - Baltimore Ravens over Jacksonville Jaguars
12 - Oakland Raiders at Detroit Lions
11 - Tampa Bay Buccanneers over New Orleans Saints
10 - St. Louis Rams at San Francisco 49ers
9 - Minnesota Vikings over Green Bay Packers
8 - Carolina Panthers at Houston Texans

5 - Seattle Seahawks over Pittsburgh Steelers
4 - New York Giants at New York Jets
3 - Cincinnati Bengals at Arizona Cardinals
2 - Philadelphia Eagles at Atlanta Falcons
1 - Chicago Bears over San Diego Chargers

Lots of "lesser of two evils" games this week (battle of NY, Raiders v Lions, Bengals v Cardinals, Bears v Chargers)...

I liked what Marques Tuiasosopo was able to do in the closing minutes against KC's defence two weeks ago, and I think he will do quite well as the Raiders' QB, even if Gannon was healthy. Time for a change under centre, methinks...

And it was certainly nice to pick 10 winners last week-- and call it, no less. :D

Here's hoping for another week of double-digit winners.

14 - Philadelphia Eagles
13 - Baltimore Ravens
12 - Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Ooops my bad!! I just saw that. Nice touch.

OT: BTW Mooster if you are able to see the Spurs game today can you give us a review on how Shane Heal played. I think the game is still on and I have heard that he has hit three 3 pointers so far. Being in KC I assume that you won't see this one though.

Don't have it on. I'm at work at the moment. We're an all guy shift tonight so are having an 'Just For Guys Movie Festival' all night.

I checked the listings. On most of the sport channels they are just having their talking-head discussion shows. Syracuse vs Indiana is playing on ESPN 2. That could be interesting, but a unanimous vote has us instead watching scantily clad chicks shooting laser guns at robot monsters....sorry. ;)

1. Steelers (gut check)
2. New York Giants
3. Miami (gut check 2)
4. Washington (gut check 3)
5. New England (GO PATS!!)
