Chelsea probably have 8 on the books, it's just if there's anyone out there in January ready to come for ~ 5weeks and then become the #2 again, anything Tottenham spends in January might be from next seasons budget aswell.

Ideally spurs next GK purchase is better than Vicario and makes him #2 which is gonna be tough to find.
the same Chelsea with about 50 first team players and two reserves teams worth of loanees?

Lloris is out of contract from 31 December anyway.

Problem solved.

Yeah I don't understand your point? You saying we can't cause we have enough or can't in general
I was being facetious..

(I thought I heard we weren't allowed to sign any more GK's. Your point proves me wrong)

anyways. Just sign Hugo for rest of season

Reading vicario is out for 3 months
Got my ticket for this weekend's game.

South stand, block 256. Going to be awesome being so close. Beers before and after going to hit differently.
You don't happen to be a keeper and have packed your gloves?

Alex crook got any credibility or he just going off everyone's gut feel at the moment?

**** I would love this transfer. Cunha is a world superstar in the making he's so slick at knitting play together like Jesus but he can score as well

Any truth to us not being able to sign another GK?

Vicario, Forster, Whitman, Austin (Gunther?)

Even if it were a loan deal, very GK heavy

I think the issue is more to do with squad eligibilities for the Prem and Europa. We basically use Whiteman and Austin to fulfil the homegrown/hometrained quotas for each of those squads. If we were to bring in another keeper that would either mean removing one of Whiteman/Austin and breaching the league's requirements OR we'd have to remove an outfield player from those squads which is not ideal at all. Gold did a video on this a while ago and explained it much better than I ever could. I'm not exactly sure what the ramifications are at this moment in time, but it's a tricky balancing act. Knowing Levy, I assume what will happen is that we'll stick with Forster until Vic is fit again.

It does amaze me how many 'fans' don't work things out for themselves and just recycle twitter opinions.
Spurs have the 3rd best defence in the league currently (rip Vicario) and have hardly been trouble from corners all season yet there's barely anyone noticing

Part of the narrative comes from the ease at which the goals we concede are. It's not like we've conceded worldies. It's the same easy tap ins at the back post

So you identify that we have to breach league requirements, or remove an outfield player from the squad.

Then you state "knowing Levy" as negative terminology inferring he will do the wrong thing, yet identify his likely course of action would be to avoid breaching league requirements or impacting an outfield player?

I get people like to stick the boot in, but your premise makes no sense.

There's clearly no avenue to get a short term keeper in.

Come January we could sign one and take out Forster if they were HG. Linked to Trafford and Patterson from the championship. Would cost an arm and a leg. So very unlikely we cough up. We'd have to give them Forster in return you'd imagine. They're both going for promotion so won't want to lose their GK.

If we were to sign an overseas keeper like Restes, we'd need to deregister Davies. Which is unlikely unless we signed a HG CB who can fill in at LB, which there's no market for

Anges press conference he said he doesn't want his players passing back to the keeper despite what people think, he wants them to play simple passes and the team needs to understand that to make it work.
He said he doesn't expect or want his keepers doing anything special with the ball, keep it simple.

The problem will be that Davies, Udogie and Dragusin will play back to him average or below average passes, which Forster will struggle massively with. We've seen this in the EL already.

Unless there's a change up and they do what Dragusin did and punt forward to space more than usual, this stretch could get ugly. I really worry just how bad Austin and Whiteman are based on how Ange described them...

Austin - always improving
Whiteman - has been here a while

Name dropped Gunter but said he's been injured which I think probably means he's ahead of them two. They must have absolute butter fingers

What is it they say about assumptions?

"Knowing Levy" was intended as a neutral statement. Simply that my conclusion was based on my understanding of the way the club has operated over the years, which I believe leans toward being conservative rather than reactionary when it comes to squad ins and outs. Due to the squad quotas, it would be a hugely complicated affair to bring in another keeper for most likely 1.5 months of football. Therefore, "knowing Levy", I don't think we're likely to do it. It's not that I necessarily think that Levy operates incorrectly at all times. You are bringing your own bias to the way you have interpreted that. Bit of a weird attack on me when all I tried to do was (poorly) explain the squad quota situation to another curious poster.

Oh, I read that very differently.

If that's the case, I do apologise.

Forster, Gray Johnson and Bentancur in
Vicario, Udogie, Maddison and Biss out

Kulu into midfield with Sarr, Johnson up top and Gray LB

Guessing he wants Maddison fit for Fulham and is a little more concerned about the counter attack
Definitely taking this one as serious as we should.
