We really should have lost that in the 96th minute of regulation time.

Johnson and Werner so ordinary. I get Porro is probably tired but no excuse for the other two not to beat their men. Moore showed signs but crying out for some real quality out wide at the moment, it's painful. Gray and Bergvell looking better every week.

Good to get through. Bit closer than we all would have liked. Annoyed about the villa away draw. Hopefully they're rotating in this cup comp with CL and PL ambitions.

I can see why Lankshear and Dorrington didn't get minutes, if we are planning on getting them loans, being cup tied limits their ability to get into their new sides. But if they're still around come Feb that was a missed opportunity. Lankshear is a better option than Werner filling in for Solanke. Dorrington could only have come in for Gray, so as long as the kids okay with the mins he's being forced to play at the back that's okay.

I thought Bussoma was our best last night, he just has so much time and was trying awfully hard to set us up.

Huge difference with our bench players coming on, Bergwell is going to be so elite, his confidence is sky rocketing. I hope he starts the NLD. Maddison very good first half, maybe carrying something, he dropped away in the second. Moore with space was a site too.

Take it and move on.

This line from The Guardian's match report made me chuckle

An away dressing room with one bench, no central heating and six showers, although the stadium manager Andy Jones had warned them not to try using all six at the same time.

That would be such a Sours thing to do. Business decisions before football decisions

I genuinely fear for Werner's career. This campaign is bordering on disastrous. Each game shows his (lack of) quality, not even his parent club wants him.

???

Loaning academy players is the definition of a football decision. Aimed at improving them.

Think he means forgetting to loan them and not giving them mins against non league opposition whilst our temporary German stench stunk it up again
We literally had news that Dorrington is to be loaned this morning, hours after the game.

Lankshear will get loaned when we get a forward in. And even if we don't intend to do that I don't see how playing Werner and not him constitutes a business decision anyway. Both are in our squad so it's merely a questionable footballing decision from Ange, surely.

Villa who have one of the best striker combos in the league and Donyell Malen to their squad.

We have a great first choice. What do we do to add to him? Rely on the returning richarlison to stay fit for more than 30 mins

Dorrington going to Scotland makes the choice not to play him a daft football decision. Understood not cup tying him. But going to Scotland that's no issue lol spursy football admins!

Werner and Johnson aren't up to it playing centrally. And tbh Sonny ain't much chop there either. Lankshear looked like a presence against quality opposition in the EL

He should be our 3rd choice until we sign another attacker behind Solanke and the never fit Richarlison. So effectively 2nd choice. Get an attacker in and then there's genuine blocks to him getting meaningful mins. Right now, there's mins he should have been getting to give Solanke a chance to attack a game at 100% sharpness.

Lol you know Tottenham are chasing Kolo Muani you had him in your starting line up against Tamworth?

Werner gave us some stuff on the wing when moved there, Johnson was being johnson. Cheeping and barely running two ways.
Werner is an effective babysitting winger. Not truly a defensive winger because he doesn't win the ball back. But he gets in the way of both teams attacks brilliantly!

That was before we got blown out of the water by Juve. Sounded like he was a close to done deal.

He'd be less than 10 percent chance joining us. And there's no alternatives being linked.

As ange said we need to get bodies in. Once KM took a while we should have been onto the next target and fast. Solanke should not have had to play any mins in the FA Cup

Topkent the thing with spurs and good signings, is we get linked and it's very close. If it doesn't happen within 48 hours it's a dead deal. Seen it so many times before. Dybala, Grealish, the list goes on and on.

There was a couple of days there where Kolo Muani was a genuine chance. Our interest was probably just used to bait other clubs to make moves by either or both his agent and PSG. No point us still being in this dance around our "key target" when he is as fanciful as Richarlison not getting another injury between now and May

Since I've been following a long though a few of the signings have come out of nowhere right? Just cause nothing's public I'm fairly sure there's something going on behind the scenes. Whether their ends up being any good options I'm not sure but Moore and Richarlison are back in the next week I believe. Not to say that's enough but surely that means the rush is slightly less for now.

Also isn't there gonna be a registration issue at the moment?

Almost certain Spence comes in for Europe and so does Kinsky. Austin say gets dropped out for Spence, but doesn't that mean a non English player has to come out just for Kinksy, let alone any more signings?

Wouldn't essentially Odobert or Werner have to be removed to replace with another attacker which doesn't actually add depth then?

Try again. Ange just preferred Gray and Dragusin.
Can't really blame him, they'll be starting to form a partnership given the minutes they're sharing.

In your opinion.
And if it doesn't happen then that another Ange football decision.

This is what prompted my "???" Yesterday. The ridiculous notion that these are in any way business decisions. They just simply aren't.

This has been my gripe with this football club for years. We had Harry Kane and the excuse was always "who would want to sit behind Harry?" instead of build on top of what we have. Get taught by Harry etc. etc. Understand we weren't going to spend the £30 - £50m to get a quality back up striker but it felt like something we never bothered to heavily invest in.

Same problem to have... again

This discussion was my point of view so I will own it;

the notion of not playing a player because it would stop a loan deal shows we care more for business (being able to loan a player) than it does about winning football games (available player in a position of dire need)
