Yeah, whoever scouted Dragusin for this system took a massive miss there. Big reason why Davies has looked better imo at CB than him is because of his passing. Dragusin turns it over in dangerous spots alot. He'd suit Forest more than Tottenham

The most intriguing one for me is Sarr. When he is 'on' he looks quality. Just dont see it enough. Classic Spurs as I keep saying. similar to Bentancaur, we just dont see it enough
The thing with Sarr is similar to Dragusin. I don't think he has the attributes to play the style of football we want to play.

He is a counter attack, ground covering monster playing in a heavy possession style team

Its not even just the turnovers that are the problem. Its the sideways nothing passing the problem to the next bloke!

are we talking about Radu or most Tottenham players? lol

watched something recently(a former winger) who said no one runs at attackers anymore. They're just a run and go sidewards types these days.

Odobert should compete with Johnson if he ever gets fit again, yes?
Sarrs just very raw still, I think he wants to be a box crashing midfielder, he's very direct and likes pressing. Not quite a 6, but not technical enough to be the 8 regularly for ange high up either. Still young though.

Odobert who knows, he was a roll of the dice on potential talent, very explosive and direct and plays confidently which is good for an Ange winger, not sure what level he's at though. Shame he hasn't played more though cause at worst he's a completely opposite player to Johnson on that side.

Yeah that one bit of play against Arsenal where he dribbles forward, plays a 5m pass to Porro who has a guy on his back and it's turned over with like an Arsenal 3 on 3.

I think he loses his head when he has the ball

Anyways, we all seem to agree one what we would like, who we realistically signing?

Muani seems like its not going to happen

A CB would be great as well, not sure on the links with this one

another midfielder would be nice as well, again, have heard nothing of note here
My money would be on us not signing anyone this window. It's the ENIC way. To dare, is too dear

Latest W/Fwd link is Ansu Fati. If we are signing fatties I'd rather get Ndombele back!

Forster was a killer for this. Udogie does this. Sarr does this. Johnson does this.

There's been times where we have had 4-5 players in the XI do it. The system can barely handle having 1 player doing it lol

For Jan?
Not gonna lie, I'm starting to wonder if anyone's gonna come in.
If they have any doubts on Ange long term don't think they'll spend much for a player who might not work in the next system and then that leaves you with is there anyone good enough for 20-30m worth getting?

Considering Udogies injury, probably gotta be a LB/CB player.
Midfield definitely won't happen

A player who's a press monster to help relieve Solanke would be very helpful aswell. Ideally one who can play on the right aswell

apologies, are you saying we should play by running at the FB's or saying we shouldn't ?

yeah, for all the chest beating from Ange, always felt like it was a cry for help than an actual plan for Levy (to being people in this January)

Ive been an Ange fan but starting o have doubt on him 'making it'. 5 points from 27 or whatever in the league is poor, Levy is so desperate for success, wouldn't surprise me if we are fighting for relegation but in a cup final and they fire Ange. Seems like an ENIC hing to do.

I was talking about the sideways passing the buck sorry.

Running at FBs has gone out of the game massively not just at Spurs. With Odobert and Moore we have the type of player who can offer it. But like Grealish, Doku and Savinho at City, they have it in the locker but the game and tactics see them do it less than a bygone era

They wont do the same thing as they did with Mourinho. If we get past Liverpool, Ange stays until at least the final. If he wins said final, he stays all season

yeah, agreed !

cant remember who it was saying this (was a defender now I remember) that suggested they would hate facing guys who actually run and challenge them. Probably why Son last week changed the influence of the game against Tamworth. Ran at the amateur defenders and challenged them. The end product was poor fro the team that day.

I forgot about Moore, when he is 20, hopefully at Spurs, maybe he can be locked in that first XI on the left.

I think it's fine to doubt it, it was fine to doubt it last year. I've just always been steadfast especially the last couple months that this isn't the best version of Anges team and there's multiple factors why. I think unless it gets toxic you gotta see it out till like 10 games into next year. If it's still faltering then, then you could say maybe it's not working long term. Right now no one knows if it is or isn't viable long term because it's failing short term

I've heard Carra and Neville both say that they absolutely hated when a forward ran at them, they said it was the dream scenario when they got it, stopped and passed inside because nothing happens from it

We really are in a weird spot as a club.

On one hand, we have heavily backed the team (spent how much in the last 2 windows?)

On the other hand, how much of that has been spent on the hear and now or for the future?

we want to bake our cake and not eat it if we sack Ange imho. We've invested in the future whilst expecting results now.

maybe it was Neville who said it. But yeah, point remains

Few people recently (last 12 months or so, maybe my socials algorithm) is saying that Pep has ruined football because the intenuity and creativity of players has been so far removed we probably won't see a Zlatan ever again.

Yeah and I'm not gonna sit here and say they shouldn't be better, they should. But losing all those players at the busiest time of the season was always gonna be a problem.
Forget the table, the first 10 games or whatever this year spurs were a far far better team than they were last year. They were way more solid defensively and were in control of games longer. They ****ed up a couple of games against Ipswich and Palace which if they had of won would have seen them comfortably top 6. Then they lost some confidence, got battered by injuries and the amount of games back to back to back hasn't allowed them to reset.

Pretty much what I'm saying is you can absolutely say it's not been good enough and it hasn't, whilst also understanding that there's no reason why it can't change with a stack of players returning and the development of the kids they have.

Spurs can spend no money at all and just the development of Moore, Odobert, Bergvall, Gray, Kinksy, Spence etc will improve them.

Take the spending out, Ange's mentality I feel is changing the mindset of both club and supporter bases.

We were up against it v City and Ange was pretty much saying "**** it, why cant we win it?" Feels like the masses are more behind Ange than they are about simply removing and changing manager (... again)

Same as Aussie rules mate, players barely go for hangers anymore, never torp the ball and barely ever kick for goal from the boundary anymore because analytics guys tell you it's low percentage.

You know how bored I get watching Melbourne half the time? We literally launch to the pocket with 3 shit as key forwards all flying for it to try and get a stoppage, so we can press up and keep it in our half and set up defensively. It's ****ing boring.

Honestly I think it's why I'm so so desperate for Ange to succeed, I ****ing love that he still cares about entertainment and enjoyment and playing for the love of the game. Like good on Arsenal for being a good team but **** me dead who would want to watch them play? Corners and crosses from outside the box and then defend 90% of the game.

Hello mediocrity
I will never understand what you have against Davies. Spent years wanting him sold when virtually the rest of the fanbase loves him.

As for Dragusin, his manager is raving about him. He's been solid alongside Gray.

If you want 4 solid centre half options fine. Let's get another one. No need to get two. We have three solid options. Pure waste of time and energy.

Mate I listen to English talkback radio cause it's good value, alot of arsenal fans want Arteta sacked. There were even city fans saying it was time for pep to leave a few weeks ago. There's just no patience in society anymore. Any manager who's making a change to a style and squad at a club needs atleast 3 years to do it properly.

I cant keep up but your in Australia (watch TalkSport via YouTube I assume?)

I listen sporadically, if im in the mood. Some of the podcast shorts (like Cara and Neville's with Wrighty and the lady whom I cant remember her name) offers good insight as well.

I cant bring myself to listen to Poms whinge for a whole episode or show though. Becomes insufferable and worse than SEN the morning after a finals loss by Carlon and it's supporters
