Again not an Ange only slight. But our A-team, B-team type rotation through the cups often means guys getting mins in the cup comps don't get to play alongside 7-8 top quality players. But are around majority 2nd rate players. Especially for the younger ones it becomes harder to shine.

Also, kudos to Ange for his light hearted approach to his translators coughing fit in the presser

I genuinely believe the following about Ange and his tenure at Spurs. IMO, he left Celtic and took this job knowing that one of the following to things would eventuate:

1. He succeeds and becomes one of the greatest managers of all time by lifting the Spurs curse. This means that he will have job offers and money flying at him for the rest of his life.
2. He fails like all of the better credentialed managers before him. No one blames him for it because the culture/chairman/hierarchy is clearly the problem at the club. Once he is sacked at Spurs, he will still have a massive amount of job offers including some that will be even bigger than Celtic. He will also have likely accumulated generational wealth while at Tottenham.

Either way, he enhanced his standing within the game by taking this job. Yes he either succeeds or fails, and there will be small amount of humiliation if it's the latter, but his reputation on the world stage moves upwards from where he was at Celtic regardless. I have no doubt he and his manager would have discussed this. Hence why he never seems overly phased by what's been happening.

The more I think about it, think he probably can't get the sack because there's no alternative. At least unless we got to real relegation territory.

Being good in defence isn't just having good defenders. If you have a fit forward line who can press well they can cut out attacks before they even begin

I get the negativity around results here but you gotta be realistic today's game.

Spurs best football is pressing high, causing turnovers and going direct to attack with space but can't do that with no one on the bench because they'll burn out and crash

Can't sit deep all game because they have a makeshift back 4 who aren't great at defending and Son who's cooked and can't counter anymore.

Maybe you press high early, hope for some success and then cross your fingers sitting back but that's cost them against Roma and Wolves.

I really don't know.

Yep, good where are they now video in 5 years.

Not sure. Could be a midfield balance thing. Bergvall been starting and he has the energy to press. Maddison is more attack and I'm guessing Ange was tryna protect the back 4
