Surely we have a recall clause for Solomon and using that instead of most likely wasting 15m on someone
Bang on IMO.

Fans have lamented the N'Koudou, Gil, Bergwijn, Danjuma style transfers. Low cost for low value.
While also lamenting the likes of Johnson, Richarlison and Lo Celso signings that cost more but also aren't quite at the level. Including paying a premium for HG status.

A panic buy this month for a warm body is only going to see a cheap buy like N'Koudou from abroad or overpaying for an okay HG player. Not worth it.

The calibre of player worth buying aren't being transferred this month, other than to the cheats in Manchester.

The rest of the league combined (excl. loans and frees):

Donyell Malen
Matai Akinmboni
Julio Soler
Diego Gomez
Romain Esse
Jaden Philogene
Welington
Antonin Kinsky

Nothing there that moves the needle, and the high value players we should be chasing aren't getting shipped out this month.

Brian Bobbey on loan being talked about. If it's just with an option to buy it's the sort of deal we need. Don't think he's close to the level Solanke and would just be a backup who we'd get stuck with, blocking our academy path. But we need it right now.

Fighting with West Ham for scraps, in the bottom half. It's the early 2000s again!

I know he's a former Ajax academy kid. Don't need a guy to come in and score 10 goals just need a pressing workhorse who can hold up the ball a little. Not sure if that's him I haven't seen much of him

We don't like the loan conditions which probably meant a mandatory buy. At least after 25 days we've got a name linked!

If everyone here could only sign one type of player for January what would you get. It's so tough cause VDV and Romero are back soon which means Davies can cover LB

I'm very torn between a LB/CB type and a RW type
In a perfect world where we could rely on Romero and VDV, I'd be going the RW or 6.

But we can't, so I'd be going a versatile defender who can play across the backline. Like Rensch who moved to Roma this month

I don't think you can bring in a 6 now unless they are a straight defensive monster. If everyone's manages to get fit you're already adding Gray to the 6.

I think a left defender who can play Anges system or a dribbly right winger who can create from that side so Porro doesn't have to get so high up would be massively helpful

Yeah living in a fantasy land saying the 6. We'll struggle to get one in the summer let alone now.

Not convinced Gray has the skillset for the 6, big question marks from Leeds supporters was he back to goal stuff, but Bergvall looks decent doing that. Them two could share the double pivot and play with an attacking player like Kulu or Maddison as the attacking 10, with Sarr and Bentancur has the back up double pivots.

Would prefer to move on from Biss and Bentancur and sign an elite 6 who the kids can rotate with and learn from. But just dont see it happening.

Shame we aren't in for Dorgu who looks set for United. He'd be pushing Udogie for the starting LB spot no doubt about that. I wouldn't even mind if we were signing a RB and persist with Spence on the left, some of his outside the boot stuff on his right foot has been the few bits of attacking quality we've had of late!

Think that's very very harsh for them to judge Grays back to goal stuff at 16/17 years old lol yes like 6 years away from being the finished product still lol. I think his time as a CB is gonna massively help him as a 6 moving forward cause he'll understand more about what he needs to do to help the CBs.

Spence has been good at LB but his passing options are very limited being on the wrong side and it slows down spurs. Not his fault but a left sides player can see the field for passing where as djed doesn't. As a back up for Porro though he looks easily good enough.

Yeah I'd prefer a LB but if it was easier to get a RB in I'd be okay with it with Spence as the Udogie backup. But a player to properly be pushing Udogie would be ideal

Dorgu the ideal
Hancko more a CB
Boscagli bit meh but a Levy special with 6m on a contract
Facundo Madina CB too

Options are there. But we will likely settle for nothing, aka steady Ben to fill two roles at once.
