He was always in his right mind rejecting us. Why join a relegation battle with that much talent at his age?

The fact it got as far as Levy flying out to meet with him is hilarious
So you slate the club for never going for the big players and always getting the odoberts instead, but then when they go for a talent you say he'd never sign anyway?

I slate the club for lack of ambition, when all things are equal in the summer. In late January in the midst of a relegation battle some realism needs to be factored in. Wasted the window with Kolo Muani and Tel chases that were dead ends. Shouldn't take 31 days to realise this for Lange, Levy, Paratici or whoever is running the show

Signing Tel in January was as fanciful as signing Mbappe last summer.

All that time wasted on dead end pursuits and we are likely to use the Paratici contact list and get Tomori and Okafor. Who are the right types, for now.

The annoying part is AC would have been willing to sanction these deals 2-3 weeks ago

It's going to be a similar thing to kulu and bentancur from Paratici. Buy one get one free with Tomori and Okafor.

Good bodies to add to the squad. Low cost. Okafor probably not much better than what we've got injured. Tomori and upgrade to Dragusin

You had Muani in your starting line up against Tamworth

The same game you said ange should have played all kids in yesterday at the time you said should be strong squad.
Need to get the job done with a semi strong side in the FA Cup. Having drawn the toughest side in the CC, its essential for Ange's job and the general club vibe we stay in all 3 cups.

Kinsky
Spence Dorrington Dragusin Reguillon
Maddison Gray Olusesi
Yang Lankshear Kolo Muani

Belt them early

I'd rather see someone like Kolo Muani come in and the pathway kept open for Lankshear, Scarlett and Donley as 3rd choice.

Can't rely on Richarlison

There was a couple of days there where Kolo Muani was a genuine chance.

That's where this gets really frustrating. Muani was a great option, get him in the team

2 weeks later shit option never was gonna come what a waste of time.

I find myself just brushing over your posts sometimes because it changes within 24 hours depending on the mood.

He was a good option because it was early in the window. Sorry I should have worded that better. At least once he rejected us, which was likely, we had time to move on. Go nuts early in the window shooting for the stars.

Problem is we took ages to move from there to Tel who is again shooting for the stars.

We've probably dropped a further 4 league spots in that time so it's an even harder sell on the 31st as it was in the first week of Jan.

Depends where he picks doesn't it? If he goes to arsenal I doubt spurs were ever gonna win anyway.

I think a better question is was spurs either used as leverage to get 60m from another club, or was it just a publicity stunt from Levy to make it look like they were chasing something.

Very strange to have a bid accepted with a club without personal terms already being agreed. Every single transfer podcast I've ever listened too the player/agent talks to the club first agrees terms then a bid is placed. You don't just place a bid on a player who may have no interest in going to you at all it makes you look unprofessional and un desirable

You're spot on it makes us look stupid

Or was it never likely and it's just a PR exercise this late?

This January window has been a strategic mess, if there has been one at all

I'm starting to lean towards a publicity stunt, Levy flying out to meet him? Come on. What the hells levy gonna do it's Lange and/or Ange selling the football vision not the owner flying their to discuss things. Seems more like Levy wanted his name spoken about as trying to sign someone

I think you're right. He's been getting some heat so let's book a flight to Germany, let's give a club who we have a good relationship with the offer they want, knowing the kids unlikely to say yes, meet said kid, make it look like he's played us. Try to make the kid look like Willian 2.0, when really it was never close, and it's not really in the kids best interest to go from top club barely playing to relegation candidates savior

Our end of window "strategy" looks like going to clubs who owe us money for transfers and rattling the tree to see what they don't want and can palm off to us.

Tomori and Okafor would be a passable window, just. Mainly because it's so late to get done, when they've both barely featured all January for Milan. And could have got them in much earlier and protected some players

Tel and Kolo Muani you could see good reasons for their rejections, why we wasted too much time on unrealistic targets after the first one failed is another matter.

But Tomori is one where it really sinks in how far we've fallen. Probably wanted a relegation release clause and/or a CL release clause option added to the deal. Something Levy would scoff at thinking that's for the likes of Brentford, QPR or Fulham.

Is it really? Tomori probably looking at Spurs and thinking he may not be 1st choice when Romero and VDV are fit after a season of not being 1st choice at Milan. At 27 he probably wants to be assured that he is playing every week

Levy still trying to run the club like we are in a CL battle when we are in a relegation battle

Didn't we want Tapsoba and we ended up with someone else? didn't we want Grealish and ended up with someone else?

its not repeat behaviour, its a pattern...

With how far we have fallen, no one in there right mind is going to come to us.. only thing we can hang out hat on is Europa League and potentially deep cup runs

According to the Forbes rich list Tottenham Hotspur is the 8th richest club in the World. They currently value us at $3.2bn which is £2,570,400,000.00 Just over £2.5 Billion.

Daniel Levy and Joe Lewis bought Spurs for a mere £45 million. They've turned a £45m investment into a profit of more than 57 times what they paid, if they sold for £2.5billion right now.

They're owed no money from player sales as they only put in what they take out.

Yet they cannot buy Ange 2 or 3 players to get him through this crisis. It should be criminal considering how well off we are financially and how wealthy the owners are after milking this cash cow for 25 years nearly.
