My PL care factor and our relegation battle is quite low.
He was always in his right mind rejecting us. Why join a relegation battle with that much talent at his age?

In late January in the midst of a relegation battle some realism needs to be factored in.

10 points clear with a skeleton squad and reinforcements coming. Think we can park this rubbish now ;)

Just wait
we can all agree that this was one ugly win. We really should have conceded but a win is a win. A few people have mentioned, luck. Maybe it is turning.

Few positives today, Spence was bloody good. Moore got minutes into his legs, a make shift backline and we come away winners. Richarlison looked cumbersome towards the end of his shift today but will be better for the run. Kinsky is. a bloody astute buy too. Bergval showed plenty of energy when he came on.

I liked Sarr's little cameo at the end there too.

Crystal Palace won so means nothing

Not enough time for academy kids

yadadadadadda
Why didn't they place like this earlier
If they'd beaten Leicester and Everton they'd be higher
Should have rested guys for the league cup etc etc

Missed the alarm woke up for the last 20 mins, reading twitter seems like I didn't miss much before that and we were doing well to be up 1-0.

Anyways, that's the spirit we need, looked like the lads knew how valuable that was.

Don't forget, he our gaffer.

Mate trust me I'm under no illusion this some game changer or pivot in the season lol. Was a really basic performance with some really good luck against a really poor Brentford side, but if there's any team that hasn't had any luck this year it's Tottenham so they've deserved it.

No one gets all the luck, but if you had a graph of luck, spurs have not had it far more often than had it

It was a bit lucky but at the same time it's not like Brentford dominated and missed sitter after sitter. They missed some ok chances but I don't recall any that was like a massive miss

agreed !

I was waiting and riding the nerves fr the last 10 minutes. Knowing full well how easy we have been to score against. Especially with how much possession they had.

I hope the luck really is changing. Get mature bodies back on the ground and who knows that the rest of this season looks like

Tottenham's business is ****ing weird. 2 players now they've had deals accepted for that don't even wanna come to the club lol

This one at least I get, we now have Danso. With VDV almost back, he's no guarantee to start.

He also may of watched tonights game and seen our new elite combo of Gray/Davies

I mean it's weird they keep agreeing deals with clubs when players don't wanna come lol. Who wouldn't tentatively check with the player first? Lol.

Yeah agreed I just think we probably started the discussions around the same time as we did Danso so reckon Disasi was probably keen prior to that move.

Other two, yep we got freindzoned hard.

On transfers, if we can get a central/defensive mid, I think the month ends up a positive. Bentancur was better today but Bissouma still worries me. Bergvall is great but don't want to burn him out, another body there would be ideal. No idea who we'd be likely to get though.

Tbh I can't see Levy sanctioning a midfielder

Bergvall, Gray, Bissouma, Bentancur, Kulu, Maddison, Sarr. 7 options already especially when the CBs come back. I'd love a more defensive option but can't see it happening till players are moved on

That's fair enough.

Be good if there was some defensive mid on the cheap (even an older player) that we could grab as you just know with our shit luck, another injury is around the corner.

Can talk tactics, injuries, form etc. but sometimes you've just got to get lucky in this sport.

5 points in 11 games before today. And somehow that is the win to break it. Thought we were very ordinary compared to a lot of games. But all that matters at the end of the day is the result

How many bad games does it require before you call it a terrible signing?
He's been one I've been talking about on here all month. And was on my list of wish we could sign for over a year. I'll wear it if he stinks it up.

With his HG status I think he was always worth going for. He'll be of the levels above a Dragusin, and likely at worst a Ben Davies at best pushing to be first XI

Credit to Ange for his team selection and not including VDV in the matchday squad.

Thanks to Ipswich not being good enough, the risk of relegation was all but 0% before today, and its confirmed now. Anywhere from 11-17th is all the same (**** Levy and the prize money). Just focus on best XI in as close to peak fitness in every cup game from here

Assuming there's no last minute surprise signings or injuries, Friday is a huge day for Ange and the club. Somehow have to eek out a draw against Liverpool at Anfield. Something some of our better squads have struggled to do.

Going to be a tough selection for Ange. You'd think Spence vs Salah at LB happens again. Would be good to clone Djed, would love him at RB too with the form Porro is in. Does Mr Fix it Gray go to RB? Not too sure if we keep moving him around. But Porro vs. anyone at the moment is a worry. Do we start VDV and then have Davies finish the game off?

Kinsky
Porro Danso VDV Spence
Bergvall Bissouma Kulu
Moore Richarlison Son

With Gray, Davies & Bentancur as the 3 senior subs. All 3 could easily come into the side.

Todays win becomes all the more important for Ange. 14th and just behind United going into the SF instead of 16th should get Ange to see out at least the EL run regardless of Friday's result.
