Biggest Album Let down?

Hot Fuss I bought after falling in love with Brightside, and then All these things.

Sam's Town I bought off the back of that, and hated it initially; then, a few weeks later, I listened to it again a few times and absolutely loved it.

SawDust I thought, for a b-sides, was excellent. Obviously some crap, but there are half a dozen songs that are real quality.

Day & Age, I love it, but I'm not sure if it's got the longevity of the other two.

Three that come quickly to mind are...

Skyhooks - Straight in a Gay Gay World
The Damned - Music for Pleasure
The Pixies - Bossonova

Admitedly all three albums had classic albums to follow up but it doesn't change the fact they were a let down (IMO anyway).
Agree with those.

Beasts Of Bourbons "Low Road" was disappointing after their first 3.

course its a gun album. but it was different to the first 3. people are quick to jump off when change arrives.

as for binaural, i didnt give it a lot of love for the first 20 listens. but have given it a lost more respect over the last 5 yrs or so. mike tearing up NAIS live for instance. i reckon it is a far stronger "live" album so to speak. take of the girl, grievance and insig for instance. rival is one i wish they'd bring back. parting ways is also a cracker. evacuation is a pretty weak tune... but then didnt matt write that? his songs are shithouse.

but what about matt's time sigs? ;)

i agree about binaural. i only appreciated it when i got my hands on some 2000 bootlegs and could appreciate the live sound. the mixing of binaural is poor.
