Bigman’s Training Reports

Nicks is secretly training with his new 2.0 shit game plan he rolled out in the first 6 weeks......

Rumors are that we are training with game footage from Rd 8, 2006 on the big screens. Also heard Joel Bowden and his brother have signed on as specialist coaches.

Yeah that’s what they did for the first half of the Norwood match sim. Also going by some of your other reports where there hasn’t been a focus on centre clearances. Doesn’t make much sense to me to not focus on a key part of the game.

It’s like we are over compensating for our slow stupid gameplan from last preseason and we are focusing on moving the ball. Time will tell if they’ve got it right.
Is there any chance that centre bounce sims set are drilled indoors in their gym? Just to practice positions, body work away from the public scrutiny. You could do that without the outside take away work could you not?

Well there wasn't anything about practising a shit game plan in this thread last year either. Unfortunately we won't know we stack up until round one.
Definitely a very surprise game plan Nicks roll out and given the excuse he used this was more likely theory work on how to setup defensively or he just decided to implement it when the season started???

I hope this year the team can repay Bigmans efforts by actually being good. It sucks to get hyped by his reports every year only to realise the team is still shit and only looks good when it's training against itself.

Not really training against itself, that would require quality to be evened up within the 2 sides. I'm not sure if it's just us, but we seem very slow to react to players who might have had a good match sim summer playing in the probable v possible demolitions, but struggle when the real stuff starts. We don't even seem to use the trial games to update form lines.

Yeh, I looked through all last year's and there were only a couple of reference to ball movement and they were both positive. What I did like hearing was the focus on aerial contests and getting players to the ground ball, this implies quick movement to contests ahead of crabbing up the ground waiting for risk free options to present.

Assuming teams keep a lot of the strategy stuff under wraps, maybe it was always like that and it just wasn't something you can glean from watching training and scratch matches. I prefer that explanation to believing that Nicks made a bunch of last minute changes.

There are degrees of whipping

Sure, Robran or Koster or Connell would have had their critics at times. Malcolm Blight amongst them.

Compared to the years and years and years of complaining about Murphy, Mackay, McHenry though with no accompanying success is.... well, like comparing a molehill to a mountain.

Jericho -hold my beer…

Remember that training session after we had one of our rare early season wins, we showed the replay on the big screen?

Apparently that’s been getting a run for Davis’s benefit.

Nicks “did you see that play? I coached really well there”
Nicks “ahh I remember that goal we conceded, the players stuffed up as we lost shape”

Interestingly the soundtrack was Skyhooks “Ego is not a dirty word”

Was it? Looks like they were posted pretty much at the same time.

Which, admittedly, still wouldn't give time for Simeon to steal bigman's work...
Nope 33 minutes apart, that's not to say I don't appreciate Bigman's reports big time.
I also appreciate reading S T-W's regular training reports. I would think there would be a fair time lapse also between when S T-W files his report and when it goes up on the Herald Sun website.

Coincidentally, I saw Tex eating a puppy this morning

Appreciate what we have in bigman giving Quality reports on Crows training
please give the first three minutes of this pod a listen for his deserved kudos and acknowledgment.
Great for the Big Footy Adelaide Board.
He is now regarded as the go to in the 150,000 strong SuperCoach community on the Crows
since his reports were pushed last year and getting rave reviews for his work.

It’d be funny if bigman actually had NFI when it comes to footy and while he’s there and giving detailed reports his takes on what he sees are so far off the mark. None of us would know!

We would though. He posts lots of good stuff outside of the preseason threads.

I do get your point. And accessibility of content makes it possible for people to pick up and run with stuff but they risk their own credibility. Big man has the points on the board and I don’t know too many others that are willing to take questions on
particular players or positions and you get information back personally delivered after the next training run.

Very lucky.
