sooo that was the best episode in a long while, things getting real, less filler more killer, every scene from the opening was well written and had a sense of purpose, and the stakes are getting anxious and foreboding

Nearly had me for a second!
You didn't agree? I thought the latest episode was much more enjoyable than previous ones. The stakes felt a lot higher. I'm still intrigued what leads Prince to throw the computer through Wendy's window from the first episode of the season. I would've thought him discovering their treachery was the reason for it.

I’ve assumed all along that Wendy’s Dr. Eleanor Mayer was a Prince plant back-door. At least I tend to perceive her lines and performance in that way.

I don’t think the referrals to Eleanor were gotten to the bottom of and adequately explained at the time. A lot of the workplace (as high as Wags even) suddenly start seeing her outside Wendy’s performance coaching. Always felt potentially sinister, another surveillance.

I think the last 3 episodes in general have been good and this season has exceeded my expectations so far.

I didn't realise new episodes dropped before the weekend so I'll try to watch episode 9 tonight.

Aahhh I didn't realise a new episode had just been released. The Owl certainly didn't meet the definition of "no second wasted" haha. It was an OK episode, but there was lots of filler. The new episode is much, much tighter!

I actually think this season has relied far too heavily on Chuck's dad that it has become a bit tiresome.

To be fair, that didnt really disturb me, and wasn’t that out of character for Wags. Liked how her breaking down of method kills the magic vibe too.
Yeah, I enjoyed Wags' reaction to that too. He's not quite the most detestable character (Charles Senior is that for sure), but he is the most consistently entertaining.

4 good episodes in a row.

I thought the female who pitched the mental company to Prince might have set Wendy up but then why did they show her pitching the company to him if that was the case.

For now I feel like the other therapist is legit but your theory does have some merit.

And with Prince going to meet Axe are we going to find out these 2 are actually on the same team now so it becomes Prince and Axe vs Chuck and Wendy? probably not , but the show has history of these kind of reveals.

Anyway good to see the Wags character redeemed in the final 15 minutes of the episode.

'Dr. Mayer seems awfully invested in why Wendy feels this way, so much so that now I’m wondering if she’s under Prince’s payroll? (Since I can’t trust anyone on Billions, I certainly can’t trust Dr. Mayer.)'

I don’t follow any of the fan chat or anything (save the convo here) so my suspicions are purely me (in the dark), but that shot when Wendy is accepting the job in front of Eleanor, the way the camera focuses on Eleanors face throughout that shot, there is definitely something more going on there whether it’s pro or anti Prince. I assumed a nice bonus was heading her way from Prince once Wendy locked that in.

I agree that there are so many alliances and flip betrayals possible. Im loving the character work of this ‘new Chuck’, but could definitely see another season ending ijbol cackle issuing forth from him.

The googly I didnt see coming, nice call, it would be interesting if this panned out the way you suggested.

One episode to go with episode 11 ending with Prince in a somewhat unbeatable position.

With the talk of spin off shows in the works hopefully this ends without too many questions marks and the fate of all the main characters are well known.

Finale went the way I thought it would in regards to leaving storylines open for spin off shows.

Not disappointed that they pretty much gave everyone a good enough ending but they really went cheesy with it and the episode felt like a totally different show, not sure i'll bother to ever watch the episode again.

However It will always be one of my favourite tv shows.

Biggest issue with this season/finale, is the way they set up twists.

You have no idea how they're going to outclass Prince then the next episode you see "eight weeks ago" and show a 2min story of Sacker catching the three mutineers.

Yep, no suspense about it at all. I didn't like the reveal straight away as you knew Prince was always doomed.

Was surprised to see most reviews and comments have been very positive towards the ending.

Feedback online has been mainly positive towards the ending.

Maybe I'll watch again to see if it's better a second time.

I did watch it a second time and was even better couple things I missed which made sense the second viewing.

Was okay. Prince didn’t fire a shot, fait accompli, but it gave enough time to get him out of the way early and for a lot of individual wrap ups, and it brought that (touchwood) sense of end series closure.

Third last ep was the season peak.

Overall one of my most fondly remembered hourlong fixtures that premiered in the second half of the 2010s (2015-19).
