This thread is for aspiring birdwatchers and twitchers. Post the best birds you've seen in your neighbourhood or in your travels.

To kick us off I spotted this Musk Lorikeet hanging out in a tree on my street today.

That's a gorgeous shot, 'legs. Are they common in your area?
Thank you! First one I've seen although we get quite a few red-rumped parrots and Eastern Rosella. I'm yet to get a decent shot of an Eastern Rosella as they are extremely shy.

The Eastern is about my favourite bird, I think. Magnificent creatures.

Last year I had a group of about 6 black cockatoos visit my yard each day for a week. They are HUGE up close, and used to perch on my outdoor cat enclosure with Ron Barassi crouched just behind his cat door switching his tail and making chattering noises and trying to look menacing. He never went out there though. Even Ron Barassi can recognise when he’s out of his league.

Lots in Canberra. I’ve always tried to get that brand of sauce even though they are harder to manage then the upside down squeezy varieties.

Canberra also has lots of those Fairy Wrens where the males turn blue in the breeding season. In a long summer they often have more than one blue period

Why isn’t this in my hobbies thread?

All of these reacts actually belong to me
Could this be the most controversial thread in BigFooty history?
