Well at least you have come up with an idea which may or may not be the best way forward but at the very least an option.

For instance, take Cardiff they have not had a game since the 15th May and are due to play round ten on the 19th June a break of over a month they have now missed 4 rounds and there are only 7 rounds remaining.

If there is more rain and further rounds are called off the competition will become a shambles but there are no options or clear guidelines being put forward by the B.D.A.F.L.

Players and officials from all clubs need to know what is intended for the rest of the season.

i have read somehere that similar weather conditions a fair few years ago ended being non-contested season..

Thanks for your useful input N.S. and S.I.L. I just hope that someone from the Board of the B.D.A.F.L. is taking note and can come forward with a solution, surely they just cannot let it go on and on and on unresolved.

Hi The Wanderer

Im pretty sure the situation is covered in the By-Laws of the competition, which are available to everyone.

I think that match ratios come into play if games are washed out and can't be played. So that still leaves Cardiff well ahead of everyone else with a match ratio of 100%. If they don't play another game then they will still finish minor premiers.

I agree, though, that the BDAFL should talk to clubs that have had washed out games with a view to rescheduling. Having said that, it will be impossible to play all of the games cancelled so far this season.

Thank you
I guess we move on from here, however some direction needs to be given to the Clubs by the Board of the B.D.A.F.L. I wasn't just focusing on Cardiff but using them as an example, surely the other Clubs must have concerns with regard to match fitness and the ultimate result of missed games.

we see city playing an 15yo in first grade - hope the league has the correct consent forms as would hate to see young kids like this get hurt - question: should kids this young be playing in first grade - what if consent is not received by the league; is that "playing and in-eligible player"

The Whisper I have is that this what the league needs. More kids staying in the region and not leaving to come up here to the sunny north or the dreary south ............... but thats only a whisper!!

If anyone is interested here are some pics from the Warners bay Vs Killarney Vale match

I also heard Deitz has a broken ankle (I assume from the game) - I must have missed it

nice photos, is it warners bay or warnes bay as the scoreboard sign says ?? Also one thing that stood out like dogs balls was the burley football. why would you guys use a burley when sherrins are the best and should be used everywhere. keep burley balls in south australia or west australia, its like bringing a cane toad back over the border. other than that good to see you guys are playing some footy again

Have some pics up of the Cardiff Vs Warners Bay game from yesterday

The Hawks just semed to be able to step up a notch when needed (Third Quarter) and the Doggies just couldnt match them.

For what its worth, I can only see one team capable of getting between Cardiff and the trophy, and thats the team that was responsible for their last losses - themselves.

He will hold his own mate, a good honest footballer CC'd the Club to a premiership, better with him than having him against you.

Cardiff go down at Bill Elliot for the first time to City.
Does this show a chink in the armour for the league leaders or is it a loss they had to have?
Seemed like Cardiff had a full-strength side on the park except for Orton who did the running duties.
City usuually only beat Cardiff once a year and in the last two years that has been on grand final day.
Are Cardiff still hot favourites or does City firm in their chances of making it three in a row?

Only one game that counts, that is the last one in September, the rest are elementary, all you have to be sure of is that you are there for a shot at it and in the last few years we have seen the favourites fall at the final hurdle.

The truth is that there are no hot favourites.

wold on video duty top of container ;)

Pretty sure I saw Wold play in the twos, so I thought he mustn't be in their best 22.
But may be coming back from injury.
He has kicked a fair few goals this year and Cardiff needed that on Saturday with their inaccuracy costing them.
Maybe someone can shed light on why Wold did not line up in the forwards for the ones.

I see another game (last night) was washed out. Its been a bugger of a season and looking outside now I am not hopefull that we will get any football played this coming weekend.

I did get to the Lake Macquarie Vs Terrigal Avoca match last weekend, if anyone is interested some pics can be found at

Nice pictures. The forecast is for the rain to clear overnight possible showers tomorrow with a fine day Friday and for the weekend. I would say that it would depend on just how wet the grounds are as to if the games go ahead.

The councils say that even if it is fine, the grounds are still wet so no play. They seem to think that we must have 7 days of fine weather before we can touch the precious turf. They close the grounds faster than the bank on a public holiday!!

I understand that the decision to call off last nights game was taken so late that some of the Cardiff players and even the umpires turned up for the game. The BDAFL sure has one very reliable communication system - NOT!!!!
