Are you sure summers and B Deitz are going to Warners, little birdie says the BDAFL wont see them at all this year

I didn't say that, I just said they were the names that were mentioned.

Your birdie is on the right track from what I have heard, left turn at the freeway though might be the go, not right to Newcastle.

Where are they going?? Ive heard another Ressies Hawks as gone to Terrigal as well.

2 of those 3 are going nowhere. The other I know nothing about. One Hawk I played juniors with (not saying how long ago!) is going to Terrigal as he lives near there and works in Sydney. Bit daft when he spent over 3 hours in a car some nights to get from work to training and back home

Gordo will play for warners unless money is involved, as they say money talks...

It most certainly does!!! This is why the BDAFL have lost 4 of their senior umpires. They will be joining us in Sydney this year. When the BDAFL only pays $66-00 for a 1st grade game, who can blame them?

Looks like you will be seeing "club umpires" in 1st grade this year.

Im so sorry to hear that they are joining you in Sydney. How about with all the cash you are making in sydney you buy a life and stop reading forums for leagues you arent from.

Can you name the umpires??? As far as I'm aware, there have been no offers made. Geez some people only come here to talk sh*t and nothing else. Good to see the forum hasn't changed!!! Good luck to all teams this season.

You only want our blokes because yours can't do the job.

Hey borgy, what do you mean since November ? Roger would have been out for a training run the day after the Grand Final :)

Have you guys got a Fitness Guru for this year ? (I would offer my services, but I doubt you guys could keep up)

well i hope they take roger, he's not in the top 4 but i bet he'd go for money.

Your in the know borgsta do BDAFL umpires expect the same as sydney umpires, the standard here is conciderably lower. Our top two sides in cardiff and city if they went to sydney would be in the bottom half of there league, so its pretty hard to justify paying umpires in both leagues the same.

Gee, you get a bit "hot under the collar".

At a meeting of the NSWAFUA on Tuesday night, Graham Glassford ( I'm sure you know who he is) said "we are getting 4 umpires who are leaving the BDAFL". No names were mentioned. OK

cardiff and city would push for a finals spot i reckon... standard isnt considerably lower, its more like just a little bit... I hope they take roger really i do that bloke loves the sound of his own whistle

Mate, Roger not in the top 4?? Based on his appointments to games in 2008 and the grand final, the officials at the BDAFL must not share your opinion.

The BDAFL has called upon the services of world famous British physicist, Stephen Hawking, to help solve their dilemma with the 2009 draw.

"It's too flaming hard for us and we're not even sure if the powerful program in the possession of the Sydney AFL will do the job" said a bloke in the know with the BDAFL.

"We reckon this Stephen Hawking bloke must be pretty brainy so we emailed him. We're hoping he'll be able to do it in his head. There's a couple of tickets to the BDAFL Season Launch in it for him so he'll probably get on to it straight away. We'll keep everyone posted on the website so could everyone stop ringing in to BDAFL headquarters".

Hawking couldn't be contacted for comment.

Yeah. So why do you think he is not in the top 3 or 4 and why would their view be different?

i never said he wasnt in my top 3 or 4...but i still reckon there are 3 other better umpires..and why would their view be different??because his resume' speaks for itself but that doesnt make him a great umpire...dont get me wrong i respect roger as an umpire but he's not in MY TOP 3, he 4th

the BDAFL set the umpires fees ... the clubs pay them ... wouldn't you think the BDAFL would put the fees up similar to Sydney to secure umpires :rolleyes::rolleyes:

I thought the Umpire's Association made umpiring appointments for all games including finals.
As Roger is the coach it seems he appointed himself.
I am not saying he shouldn't be there, but your assertion that the independant selection of umpires reflects their quality is flawed if this is the case.
If it is not then I am open to correction.
