City Bulldogs game best I've seen for a while. Tough, hard footy from both sides, with some patches of brilliance thrown in. Low scoring in the first 3 quarters but end to end footy with desperate defence keeping the scores down.
At 3 quarter time the Bay up by 8 points, but the contest was dead even. Attrition ended up being the key with the Bay running out of bench players due to injuries. The Blues took control of the centre in the last quarter delivering to their key forwards and ran away with the game. Luke Rawnsley was a brick wall the Bay couldn't get past in the final term.
To be any chance in the rematch Warners will need to have more left in the tank to finish out the game.

Another Warners Bay loss, Another mention of injury's as an excuse, ahhh some things never change.

Typical City snobbery. City had their fluke last year and they will be sitting on the sidelines on the big day with their broken down Bulldog mates watching Terrigal try and stop the Hawks getting YET ANOTHER premiership.

Good contest though between 2 also ran teams

Is that typical Cardiff arrogance?
It got them a long way last year.
Had the shit thumped out of them in the finals by the snobs - twice!

Hahaha. I havent spouted on about Cardiff at all you gerbil. I would have thought you were a fat blonde thug at Killarney Vale wearing no. 22 in reserves given your handle. not a city hack.

Leaving Cardiff out of it, I havent heard Terrigal or Warners Bay on here being arrogant, most BDAFLers are genuinely interested in good FOOTY.

My comments about the game on Tuesday night were even handed and acknowledged City's superior stamina without maligning the efforts of the losing team.

I can see why you need to keep getting new blood in to City, you cant seem to keep any decent humans.

Don't call me gerbil!

flukes...they did well didnt they? 2 flukes in the space of 3 weeks :D

some off the ball incidents not spotted by officials or many people i think but the players involved will want to square up.

Yes, but that said, the last thing ANY PLAYER would want to risk is being reported and suspended 2 weeks out from finals.

Something tells me that the umpires will be aware of the "tension" that will be in this game and will be quick to react to anything. I am sure they would talk to each other at training about it.

Based on this if I was playing in the game I would expect the umpires would be "trigger happy" and therefore on best behaviour.

Great insight into how the umps may be thinking, i'm still backing the bay boys to go the man first then the ball.

would have to totally disagree WB only go the man in my opinion dont like to put there head over it at all but rather take the cheap shot at the man. In lasts years pre lim thay wacked a young bloke late and when KV ie dave dunning muscled up none of them went the nuckle at all. they have no respect or credability.

i think you'll find i was trying to make the same statement just did'nt word it well enough obviously.

..this might sound naive but who were the culprits?

either way the square up if it did happen didnt seem to have an effect on the scoreline...at least not for City. But KV....lack of depth? getting rolled by Wyong and then Gosford...not a great way to finish your season off.

Thought I'd seen it all in this comp but for a senior side to only score two points????

FFS this is clearly not good enough.

Well Done to Lake Macquarie though. THey have now gotten the NEW RECORD for the LOWEST SCORE in a Black Diamond Cup Match.

This breaks the old record scored by Nelson Bay (0.3.3), which occured last year in ROund 13 against Newcastle City.

With two records (Highest Score kicked against and NOW lowest score kicked in a match), surely this proves a case that teams like Lake Macquarie have NO PLACE in our top tier of footy.

Wonder what the BDAFL is going to do about it?

Probably the same thing they do about most things - NOTHING!!!

Tough call really. If the crows have the numbers for 2 teams then....

Admittedly they got pumped by who many would label the premiership favourites.

there are some tough choices ahead for sure. After all, you cant force players to play for a specified club. Just gotta keep plugging away and nurture as many juniors as possible.

in my opinion you must of been watching a different game to me..its nothing to be proud about as it nelly coct them the game but from memory wb had to players sin bined just on half time for going the so called nuckle.. it was problly the same incident your talking about.. hopfully they wb have learnt this year and can lift in the next couple of weeks and get some wins over the top three..

you no nothing rizzbang...

Notice d!ckbreath that I used the word "too", which indicates that I may have had difficulties with the same subject. So congratulations for embarrassing yourself.

in the context of the conversing you had assumed the mantle of superior intellect which then places an entirely different meaning on the word too. it can be used to highlight other shortcomings of the person in question, hence thereafter forward space two dots

you must have been watching something completley different. Fact the two players sin binned #1 was for the late hit on the young bloke which i stated in last quote. #2 was for pushing a coach over. Lets just stick with the facts hey.

Player #1 sin binned for the late shot but did not serve time in the bin as the umpire who gave the yellow card was not the controlling ump or wasnt authorised to do(something along those lines)

Player #2 sin binned for pushing the KV coach and got suspended for 2 weeks

also KV coach got yellow carded for walking onto the ground(even though he didnt)

hope that helps

look no one cares about these dust ups from the past, no one thinks your clubs tougher or in anyway intimidated by bringing up that crap. Tuff men dont have to talk about hurting people, they just do it, fair and square, hard at the man and the football.

Now onto real footy interests.

Does anyone know whats happened to K/Vale? Beaten by Gosford and Wyong in successive weeks is cause for concern one would think. To think they've gone from a premiership to this in 2 years, What are they a modern day West Newcastle?

Also has everyone noticed how well Adams has played this season for Terrigal, great season in the midfield by Adams, possible Best and Fairest Winner!

Yeh i could tell you why they lost to Gosford. They have a lot of injuries and nothing solid in the lower grades to come up and make an impression in senior Level and the tigers had a real crack and made things go there way. I can't explain why they lost to Wyong just looks like they had a bad day or Wyong finally had a crack.
The standard of footy in the league is weak and with 3, maybe 4, teams only playing at a good level the other sides are never going to match it for 4 quarters with no depth and no formula.

Kilarney Vale were not meant to win that premiership in 2007, they had 1 player, who was by far the best player to ever set foot in a game in our this league, who carried them through all of it and without him they were no chance of being real premiership contenders. Jackson brought an Xfactor to the a club that had potential in 2007 and Steve Cutler, who is a smart footballer and coach had them playing with belief that they could win.

Elliott - Davey Medal Predictions???

Angus Darling - Terrigal Avoca

OR

Liam Gibson - Cardiff

Anyone elses thoughts would be great to get some real footy discussion.

I agree with the two you mention, both having standout seasons. Pete Van Dam might also poll some votes. Ben Hodges might be a smokey...

He was a handy player! best ever, highly doubt that one. I'd say Shackleton was more important to winning that premiership.
