Darren Emmet is a quality player.
Played in the 2003 City flag side.
Colloupas won league best and fairest that year but Emmet won city's.
Shows how much respect he had inside the club and in a great side.

Collopus is the most over rated player evr. he only won the medal because hes a nice guy anmd got along with the umpires. I remember a cople osf years ago playing city i started the game tagging him. well buy half time id had 25 posesions (16 kicks 8 handballs) and collopus got dragged. And tyhen HE ended up coming back on to tag me! well i eneded up kicking 2 goals in the last quatrer !! Lol

Well I think you could be the most SELF OVER RATED player Ever.!!!

I just looked at the BDAFL site at the tribunal results. The young kid was found guilty and was suspended for 8 matches.

That's a fair whack from all reports of the incident on this forum.

I am pleased that the BDAFL tribunal is taking a hard line on contact with umpires, we need to protect them and encourage others to join the ranks.

Just hope the eight week lay-off doesn't mean the kid just pulls the pin on Aussie Rules altogether.

That sounds very credible to me. How have you found the constant harrasment from the sydney clubs and perhaps even AFL scouts? No doubt you would have got plenty of offers especially after that effort.

It would be fair to assume that you played a big part in the Nelson Bay defeat over the weekend....perhaps even played in all 4 straight sets losses. Best of luck next year tagging the leagues best players and showing them how its done.

There were two incidents in last weeks reserve grade where accidental contact was made with an umpire at the centre bounce, both cases resulted in a free kick to the opposing team.

I think it is fair to just pay a free kick for incidental contact that is deemed minimal.

But as we saw in the AFL a couple of seasons ago players were starting to mow down umpires with "accidental" contact.
The practice was quickly snuffed out with a few heafty suspensions so they need to keep a close eye on "accidental contact".

As far as I heard the kid pushed the ump so this is not accidental and should be dealt with by the tribunal!

some of todays results:
18's-cardiff by 20 or 30 over KV good game..KV lead by 20 at 3/4 time..but had the wind behind them in the last and ran hme with it....matt white got BOG medal

wasnt there for the last two games.

2nds-singo by a point..read on comp website singo got up after the siren scores level and josh childs jus had to score to win he kicked the best point of his carrer to win it for singo by 1 point

1sts-city by 7..back to back..spoke to mitch knight on the phone and he said they got up by 7 points and was a good hard game also..congrats to him great to se him get a medal as he missed last years through injury and he is a great bloke

congrats to all winners cant wait for 2010 bring it on =)

Season 2009 done and dusted.
First grade went according to prediction really. City and Cardiff were both going to be a cut above the rest. Terrigal got 1 or 2 good players back but that cant win you a flag...nor a spot in the GF against the depth of the top 2 clubs.

Reserves went sort of to plan. Singleton were worth grand finalists but at round 16 Nelson Bay had the premiership in the bag? That is a major issue from an outsiders point of view. Good on the coach for sticking with the no train no play policy. As always the reserves can be a mixed bag, even Terrigal field a very strong side when at home but went missing away.

18's went according to early predictions.

What's 2010 got in store? More of the same I'd say....but with burleys.

I use a Canon 40D and a 400mm 5.6 Lens. A nice combination but I saw at least 3 people there with Canon 1 series bodies, attached to what I think were 400mm 2.8 lenses (around $15000 worth). Not sure who they were or who they were shooting for.

I have also added the BDAFL Cup photos to my website

One was a Cardiff guy (or had the club shirt) - nice bloke too - nice camera ...

great shots Dave ...

sydney afl grand final at the new blacktown stadium ... entry $5.00 per spectator with Under 16’s free of charge ... way to go BDAFL:thumbsu: .. no wonder you had record gate takings

Hahahaha you make me laugh you poor excuse for a human. Im guessing you didnt watch the rep game between Sydney Afl vs Afl Canberra. Colloupus was named best afield by a mile and 2nd was the Phelan medalist of last year. Now, if you watched what he was doing you would have been amazed but from what I saw and the reports I heard, Jason's performance was astounding and his form has been excellent all year in a quality UNSW side.
So go puff ya pipe you druggo and shoot yaself in ya mouth.

strong rumour out of K/V they are on the move Steve Cutler to coach in 2010. he was spotted at the grand final the planning may have already started, if he is in charge they will be very competitive still dont think they could win it.

also heard on the grape vine that jared crouch former sydney swan is a possible coach with his connection to mcveigh and the fact that crouch has a house at the entrance

there could well be some truth in that cutler has played under brett allison premiership player at the kangeroos when he represented the sydney afl and is now with the swans. would make for interesting combination, but thats not the mail i have.

i got mail from energy australia telling me to pay them money or else im going to jail but you dont see me advertising all over footy forums about it

Well, just processed the last of my footy photos for the year. I have posted a gallery of the guys (and girl) in orange. Without their efforts we wouldnt have a game, so I hope most of them will roll up agaon next year.

The news out of umpire land in regards to next year is not good. It would appear that up to 6 umpires who regularly did 1st grade this year, including the 3 who did the 1st grade grand final are gone.

Retired: Ashley Borg, Grant Godfrey, Peter Hampshire. Phil Stone has gone to Melbourne and Tyler Druwitt has been "drafted" to Sydney. That's a big "hit" to numbers with no foreseeable replacements.

It would also appear that since the BDAFL can't get its act together in relation to the appointment of an umpires coach, Roger Crowhurst has accepted the position as umpires coach in Sydney (that was the big news at our - Sydney Umpires GF dinner on the weekend), so that's another one gone.

When you need 12 umpires each week, to lose 6 of your 1st grade squad is going to hurt!

Interesting news River. I overheard Roger at club racing last night say that as the BDAFL has not put an offer to him, he felt he had no choice but to take the Sydney job.
