I dont no were you getting your infomation from mate! Gosford were pro active. They went and Spoke to Peter directly from whats I heard. He was still contracted with his Sydney team and chose to take the role in Gosford.

You have no idea, what you have heard is rubbish. He has been scouting about in the area since early in the year and has approached other clubs.I know he hasnt approached Terrigal, but just like you have sources so do i and they haveindicated that he has had discussions with both Wyong and Killarney who for whatever reason both were not keen. Maybe the case is simply that Gosford just made a better offer and / or got in early and sealed the deal, threfore ruling The Magpies and Bombers out of the race, i dont know!

I really couldnt give 2 fu*ks who coaches at Gosford, but like i said before, wasnt too sure that your comments about players all wanting to stay, and more strangly go to Gosford from other clubs because of this Peter Free fellow is a huge call.

Once again, good luck, it seems like the pressure is firmly on Gosford in 2009 (as is always the case) to acheive i.e. make finals for the first time since 1999.

NELSON BAY:? May not have a team. let alone a coach. This should be the main priority for the league. AFL needs a team in Port Stephens. Its probably too far sighted to suggest that Maitland is important to the growth of the code too, when a traditionally strong side like Nelson Bay is allowed to slip so close to oblivion.

SINGLETON:?former Cardiff player David Flynn is going to coach the team. This would be a fantastic thing for the code. Flynny has given great service to Cardiff and the league, and would be a huge boost to Singleton. May also help win Muswellbrook over to a merger??

WARNERS BAY: Advertising now. Brunckhorst a possibility to do the job again. Coaching appointment process over November for applications through to finalisation. Club has plenty of numbers but looking to bolster its 1st grade depth.

WYONG: Can NOT believe that no real efforts appear to be made by the BDAFL to ensure that the Central coast does not retain an AFL presence in its second city.

Any goss on Nelson Bay or Wyong, or is an 8 team comp likely for 2009, with 2 of the 8 in trouble for 2010?

Wyong will definately be in the competition fielding all three grades. My mail is that two current senior players that are injury prone are taking over the ressie coaching position and are scouting a fair few former players who have left the club for various reasons. Hopefully this will stabilise the reserve grade team and allow the club to focus on improving the 1st grade team. Apparently the 18's are looking pretty good as well but at this time of the year who can tell.

I know that Wyong has not generated a lot of respect in recent years but with the change of committee it looks like the club will finally have some stability from a board level and i believe that this will mark a significate improvement in club culture

Stats are just numbers... What the numbers don't say is that Warners Bay have been supporting 3 teams in each grade since the start of the BDAFL unlike Lake Mac and Wyong... There's no comparison... And how are Gosford looking... All those 18's G/F appearances and only a handful of good senior players... And where are Warners Bay? I know who I'd rather be playing for...

This is the biggest LOL of all time.... Gosford are overrated, understaffed and so full of themselves that they will not make finals next year.
They get themselves into winning positions and lose. They can push it with sides above them for about a half and then die out.
Seriously, do you honestly think you are going to get the numbers pre XMAS?
You need to do more than that. From what I have seen, which is more surprising than you think, you need a backline (Deitz is gone so that's a major problem), you need a midfield other than Tadd Walford and Church needs to kick goals against sides who matter, not just Lake Macquarie and Nelson Bay.
Don't worry about getting on Warner's Bay's back about struggling when it counts, you guys said you were adamant you were making finals this year and you failed. MISERABLY.

I hope that whatever diet or training program you go on makes you fitter than any AFL Player, cos Gosford will need it, badly.
