He'd be great for a year.
I hate this idea of getting oldies for a year. That's a quick fix if ever I saw one, it's decisions like that which hamper the development of other players and leads to long term problems. It's that sort of idea that holds clubs back from developing young talent. It's the sort of thing we did for the last ten years before Hardwick and it got us nowhere. We still have a long way to go and are in no position to do a quick top up for a year. Youth, Youth, Youth. We need someone who will grow with our list.

The only time you do that is if you are right in the heart of a Premiership window and a quick top up might be the difference between winning a flag or not, i.e Lake at the Hawks.

If we get Adams which IMO is a really good chance we will lose a established player. GWS really don't need picks. The only way I see us not losing someone established if either they are happy for a second stringer in Griffiths or Astbury for example or our pick is needed in a 3 way trade to get them players.

When will you be able to start giving us some ideas at who we are looking at regarding free agency and trading (if anything at all)?

I would be extremely happy with the #11 for Adams trade and cant see them giving up their #19 (they will use 4 selections)

Foley i don't believe will be on their Radar with their current midfield and what they have coming through
We should be looking to get their 3rd selection included in the Adams-#11 trade if it happens

The Player i personally believe that they will be looking to get will be Jackson and if it was last year im sure all tiger supporters would of been happy to walk him there but this year maybe not

But What would people think if say for example this scenario was to occur
Jackson +#11 + Grimes - Adams+Dom Tyson+#19

I'm sure the Doggies know he'll be delisted anyway.
Never know there could be interest from other clubs for such a low price / cost
If Saad is suspended and milne retired there could be interest from the saints or melbourne

Only if cheap. He is old but leadership wise he would be great.

even play, potential coaching role later maybe,

We haven't had anyone with that football prowess since KB. He should be a lot better than Cousins but he is getting slow now so you would only pick him up as a stop gap leadership role.

I don't mind that because I think we are a few years away yet anyway. If we were on the cusp of a premiership probably not but we are a little away from it yet

No way are we anywhere near good enough defensively compared to Freo atm for example. We are minimum 2-3 years from them defensively. Blind Freddy can see that so it could work

Don't agree, Lake is more serviceable than Chapman. I think Chapman is too past it for that, I think he is more for leadership and guidance etc..So Chapman 1 or 2 years before our window really starts to open, but only if really cheap, to help our youngsters like a Garlett etc.. if we get him along with Choco.

This is more for GWS but he may not want to shift to Sydney

Yep averaging 20 disposals and 1.5 goals a game sub affected and he's past it

He played as a sub and finals next year is another year away, finals 2015 is 2 years away.

He will be handy, but one has to acknowledge he has slowed, the game to a degree has moved on, but he was a great player and now will still be a handy player.

Barring injuries we will not beat Sydney and Freo in the next few years in a GF anyway so it is academic, our list is not good enough yet.

nearly 32 this year, nearly 33 next year, nearly 34 2015, makes a difference, don't think he is boomer!
