There is far more prestige and bragging rights internationally winning a Superbowl than a provincial AFL Flag

The Patriots coming back from 28-0 to beat The Atlanta Falcons was a far greater thrill than any VFL/AFL Grand Final I have ever seen.

It was majestic.

And of course my Celtics right in the mix again in the NBA. And yes 1000 x over I would prefer the Celts to repeat as World Champions than a Carlton flag, really want us to get bit of a break on the purple and piss again (Lakers)

Also modern footy is absolutely crap. The game jumped the shark around mid 00s (when all those pissant non Vic Teams kept making grand finals)

And absolutely unlikable spuds like Patricia Dangerfield and Nick 'Seagull' Daicos are the face of the league these days, flogs who ain't fit to tie the boots of the legends I grew up with like Plugger, Diesel, Dermie etc.

The league's changed, old man. Dangerfield (ugh and even Daicos) are the peak of how the game is played these days. Plugger, Diesel etc wouldn't even make the grade in the modern game - not fit enough, not 'footy' smart enough, and would be suspended most weeks if they did make it.
