We're interested in Bonar but probably won't have the currency to get it done. Casboult has been tabled as a potential swap.

Thanks for the info Reg...I'm guessing there would be something else coming back to us? A very unproven midfielder that would be a project/depth for us vs a very versatile good senior footballer doesn't seem equivalent.

Geez I hope we keep Casboult, but he just may be our best chance to get both Papley & Martin across the line.

Would hate to think Casboult just nets us Bonar alone.

Note to Suns.

Ed Langdon just got traded for equivalent of a pick in the mid 20s*.

Langdon runs harder and gets the ball 50% more than Martin, but doesn't use it as well.

Top 5 in Freo B&F last two years. Out of contract. A year younger than Martin.

NOT. WORTH. FIRST. ROUNDER.

* Works out at ~Pick 23, but blows out to ~30 as Melb could rise and/or with next year's picks being more compromised.

You're joking right

At the stage we are at, I value what Casboult brings to the table more than Bonar. I know big Cas has his deficiencies, hence why I said good footballer, not great...but he has shown the ability to perform well at senior level (especially this year). My biggest concern with our best 22 for next year is who will play back-up ruck to Kreuzer, a role that Casboult has shown he can do. I definitely do not want it to be McKay. In saying that, I don't see how we play McKay, C Curnow, McGovern, Jones, Weitering, Marchbank and Casboult all in the same team either...

Of our current midfield group, who would you play Bonar ahead of on exposed form (not potential)? I haven't seen anything from him yet to say he would play ahead of Cripps, Murphy, E. Curnow, Setterfield, Cuningham, SPS, Fisher etc. Happy to be proven wrong on this, but just my gut feel looking at that trade.

This is inflated by product of the WCE generosity for the Kelly's trade

... we should’ve gone for Langdon?

Correct Carlton are over paying this year for our management's perceptions of our needs and the target's potential
