Doesn't sound good re: Papley. Jake Niall going with Sydney not wanting to offer pick 5 in the Daniher deal.

Of course the don't want to - doesnt mean they won't.

Expect all parties to play hardball today and test the patience of their opposition.

Swans offered 5 and 25. Essendon said no.
Swans offer 9 and future first. Essendon say no.
They'll keep posturing and arguing, and statements will be leaked about one side or the other being prepared to walk away.
And at the end of the day, Sydney will offer 5 and 9, on the proviso they get something decent back, and it will ultimately get done.

But if Sydney offer 5 and 9 now, Dodo has all day to push them for even more.

Everyone's playing the game.

Don't pay any attention to the opinions of football journos, they're just filling air time.

The only thing we need to pay attention to today is official offers, rejections and completed trades.

This trade period will be a disaster for us. We’ve put all our eggs in the one basket. Disappointing

What is a realistic alternative to having all your eggs in the one basket come trade week? It’ not like multiple A graders are lining up waiting for us to decide they are the chosen one. Especially this late. If it falls over its bad luck. That’s the system unfortunately.

This is frog shit, deals aren’t going to get done as they want “dramatic scenes” for the televised coverage tonight. Managers will take it to the wire to show “how tough” they are. This isn’t a movie, the afl are a ****ing joke, stop trying to manufacture drama & publicity & concentrate on running the ****ing game.
It’s a pity there’s no way to hold the afl to account and get them to stop ****ing around, it really is an insult to all involved (including us supporters)

Hate to see Sydney digging in their heels. Within their rights, but you still hate to see it when it negatively affects us.

Why couldn't they play hard ball with Mitchell?

You're right, every time I start to get angry at Sydney for not trading a player that wants to leave, I remember how we handled Gibbs and try to put myself in their shoes.

Frustrating, but fair.

There it is...

Looking forward to 8+ hours of impatient, negative posters whinging about how if we haven't closed the Papley/Martin deals yet we must have missed out due to club incompetence. Probably quoting prominent media personalities talking absolute shit to create clickbait headlines.

Also looking forward to those posters going missing after both trades go through this evening.

because Longmuir ( apparently) couldn't stand the sight of him.

We’re have other plans but Swans won’t budge ..

Thanks mate (I think)
Got to say this is the first time in trade period I feel less confident about the Papley trade going through.
