Well I certainly will be boycotting the final trade night coverage on Fox Sports and I assume Channel 7. Not going to indulge these galoots by signing to their tune. Got better things to do with my time. This crass commercialization of the game gets worse every year. The TV networks have far, far too much influence on this league (especially with compromised/tainted draws which saw Richmond finish the home and away season with 7 games at the MCG) 🤖🤖🤖🤬🤬🤬
I've had better things to do with my time for over a week now. But it still hasn't stopped me from wasting more time on bigfooty.

So here's an idea.... if you're gonna have an overly long trade period, why not have more TV coverage earlier on?

That way you don't have dramatic galoots like Dodo waiting until the last freakin minute and dragging the whole thing out.
It’s time the cameras are in the negotiations. Just do Big Brother trade week. Lock them all in a house, with camera everywhere. Friday Night games, the list managers compete for an extra first round pick

If im paying more than 2 billion dollars to broadcast games Id want a say in what is being shown on my TV network and when. Without the TV networks money, the players would be full time barista's and shop fillers and part time footballers. They are a necessary evil, for lack of a better word.

Confirming this was the logic on display on trade radio this morning.
Apparently they are a a "Top 4 Team" with Daniher on their list

Nothing like comedy central from Bummers fans. Who out of Richmond, Collingwood, West Coast, GWS, Brisbane are they better than? Geelong will hurt without Tim Kelly but even they're still better than Essendon. Hawthorn with Mitchell to come back, and two decent bookends if fit are going to rise. Argument can be made for Western Bulldogs, too. The only givens are that both Adelaide and Port will sink like rocks, and Essendon may be in the mix with a bunch of us for the last spot or two.

What is SOS doing - just offer Pick 9 for Papley for nothing in return and Pick 43 and Future 2nd Round Pick for Martin.

You seem to forget there are other parties involved. These players are not being purchased from a shop ffs.

I get that from the TV's perspective.
But wouldn't it be more to their benefit if the period was compressed, and more was happening, and more excitement was created? Sure they want some big deals going down in the last 2 hours, fair enough. But how does it help them to have 4 players move in 8 days?

I would think, purely from a tv and entertainment perspective, they'd be better off running trade week for 4 days and finishing on Thursday night (Obviously not from a Trade Radio perspective, though, where they get an extra week to talk about absolutely nothing happening).

Watch the * mouthpiece wispy Watson step up to earn his keep tomorrow morning, once Daniher is traded.

Poor bloke reeks boofhead unfortunately - I bet he knows it too.

I suppose you are right (even though i don't like it), I would like to see more of that TV Network money trickle down to country/grassroots and junior clubs to be honest, getting more kids and juniors playing footy or any other kind of sports can only be a good thing.
