Players can manipulate the PSD easily. Easily. Eg: nominate 1m a year for 2 years. “Go ahead GC, draft me.” They don’t. Blues then do- they have to honour the deal but...you wouldn’t believe it, he’s re-signed for 200 a year for a further 3 years because he loves it so much”

Yeh this can't happen as would likely be seen by the AFL as clear draft tampering...would be massive consequences

windy, speak to me........tell me everything will be alright...........
Everything will be fine. It can be safely assumed Paps in the bag; Martin is obviously coming to us since the last thing GCS want is a player who doesn't want to be there (the 2nd last thing they want is talent leaving, but having B King's signature for 3 years suggests they have a nucleus to work with).

This comment from Craig Cameron - why are we putting any stock in it?

There's been next to no public commentary from either side about what has or hasn't been discussed in negotiations. Last we'd heard was GC saying they wanted more than a future second, and would prefer to have a first rounder involved. Now they're saying the clubs are still a fair way apart and they're not satisfied with our current offer. ITK's suggesting multiple options have been agreed in principal though. Looks to me like we're happy for GC to make a few strong statements in the media so they can make it look like they're fighting hard for a better deal, provided nobody spills the beans on what offers have been discussed/agreed upon. It's just some goodwill from us to let GC save face with their member(s) and AFL overseers.

No doubt in my mind that Martin will conveniently get traded somewhere around 6:15pm.

Pretty sure there is.
Jon Ralph said there was last night.

It’s apparently on 28th, November according to research online.

Since it’s still a thing, wouldn’t Carlton have Pick 3 after GCS and Melbourne? Melbourne would be the danger but can’t we offer Jack a contract before that he can sign?
