Nope. We play it that GCS are being unreasonable for an uncontracted player who wants to leave. Which they reportedly are being.

Part of the reason purportedly that he hasn't nominated publicly, despite telling Murph himself he wants to be at the Blues.

Can "play" it however we like - can guarantee if we've given Martin assurances that we'll do what we can to get him across, and then cut him off with 1 day left in the trade period to chase Wines, that it'll burn our chances with some other players moving forward. Players talk. You reckon if Martin told a bunch of players that we left him at the altar to chase another player instead that word wouldn't spread through the comp? Would probably test some relationships within the club as well.

If we were talking Josh Kelly instead of Ollie Wines, I think you take the hit. Ollie's not that important to our prospects, though.
