Just listened to Pittonet on SEN from Afternoon show.

What a ripping guy.

Smart, well spoken, good sense of humour. Others will love having him around. Talks about continually developing himself and his skills.

Super excited to get to Carlton - was watching Carlton games in back half of season and loving the energy, style of play and crowd engagement. Can’t wait to get there.

Really hope he can deliver on the field.

But but look how rough and tough we are grrrrrrrrrrrrr

I hope they keep shedding players every year if that’s how they manage their shithole.

It’s possible for this to be an outcome that suits both parties. GC don’t need the picks....

However, I will say that their chest beating is transparently reliant on the AFLs largess, which they can’t always rely on.

So Cochranes solution to stop players leaving is to find ways to redraft and trap them there for longer?

Because that won't become a PA, and AFLPA circus at all.

Last thing Gold Coast want on their hands is the aflpa. They will try to have another go at convincing him but he has already told the footy club he is no chance to go back there. I’ve got an inside source at the club and they are pretty certain that Martin will making his way to the blues

Hahaha - I don't mind Cochrane for the entertainment factor...he has to get some new material though if he truly wants to say the club has changed...

This quote is almost word for word what he said about Hawthorn when they were chasing O'Meara:

“Carlton for all of their talk about what a great player he is and how much they could pay him, the best they could say he was worth was a second round draft pick. Their actions didn’t live up to their words."

Will we go after Papley again next year??

Unless something significant changes then we sorta have to as we made a commitment.

We can't do an Essendon and Caddy, or an Essendon and Martin, and forget they exist after the trade doesn't eventuate.

We would want to anyways, he's a gun. So they "have to" bit is made easy.

Fair enough by Cochrane. Can’t come out and do nothing the next day.

Needs to take a month before he shrinks off into his insignificant hole.

Unsure if it’s been posted, but Cochrane is infuriating.

Good god, the man is mad!!! Creating a 'great' culture for the club.

Imagine how the other GC players are feeling right now if this is how he treats one of his own....it's no wonder everyone wants to bail from that shithole as soon as they can.

AND he says he's going to move money around from other players to match our offer....how would you love to be one of those players getting screwed so he can prove his point.

Cochrane can say what he will about making a stand and we will draft him in the PSD if they go that way, but SOS is like Bobby Fisher compared to Cochrane he will be 4 moves ahead. He will know the GCS and Melbourne list and know what they can afford and structure the Martin contract accordingly.

Lol Cochrane. It will actually look worse for Gold Coast and their retention issues if they redraft Martin and force him to stay there.

Heres a tip. Instead of trying to hold players against their will create a culture and place players want to play at.

The afl will not change the rules in regards to the PSD in relation to Jack Martin, there isn’t enough tin foil on the planet to disguise that type of corruption.
Why pick Jack Martin as the line in the sand moment?
Surely the best key forward going to the 2017 premiers for “nothing”, would have been a greater Custer moment for them?
We get Jack and they get jack.
Case closed.
