Just like to thank Aphrodite and the other Carlton mods who started the Bluemours NON Discussion Thread and who have kept it free of chat over the past few years.

It helps so much when you just don't have the time to read through this thread, cheers and great job.

TCP goes bang!

JSOS wanting out makes me upset and we should be trying to retain him. Very intriguing. Had a feeling Kennedy would get some interest. The guy can carve out a career and has the ability to play at AFL level

Funnily enough, its what the Dopers need (Kennedy type).

Not too surprised with JSOS. Seemed disgruntled when his old man was moved on, and probably wants a fresh start elsewhere. Still 50/50 to make it as a player IMO, and we're probably not too annoyed to lose him.

Sounds like other clubs have progressed further with Saad, but we'd be quietly confident still.

It will be difficult to watch Silvagni play elsewhere, but maybe it is better for him to go and play for another club and be his own man. This is always the difficulty with having to make professional decisions (e.g. moving on SOS and de-listing BSOS) where family is involved.

If he goes, I will not "Boo" him. He's a smart footballer that gives his all every game.

Objectively it's probably the right decision for both parties.

JSOS is a 3rd tall type forward for a marking target and a bit of defensive pressure.
However we are loaded with key marking forwards - Cas/McKay/Curnow/TDK/Gov.
For 'pressure forwards' i'd hope we get smaller, quick players to perform this role.
And no he's not a midfielder...he doesn't get a game in our midfield that's for certain.

The fact that it's Jack Silvagni is why it's an emotional hit, but really we're losing a fringe player who's probably not in our best 22 rd 1 next year.
However for JSOS, he could find a spot in the best 22 for some other teams for sure like Melbourne/Essendon/North. Maybe Saints.

That is absolutely sad. Something must of happened. Why would we get rid of a block that gives his 100% every week and bleeds blue. Has enormous footy IQ.
I'd say the club expressing that having 2 sons at the club is the reason for SOS' departure could be a pretty big reason... was a dumb thing to say at the time, very, very dumb.

also the fact we traded in McGovern to basically take Jacks spot (although his own dad did this).

i dunno, would've been hard for him being a father son as well as son of the list manager. Catching up with teammates at the end of the year who were just delisted by his own Dad.. awkward situations all round.

Does he? I'm not having a go, but there's certainly a trend with popping in after the news has done the rounds and regurgitating that information.

The rumour about JSOS plain sucks. Must be disillusioned with his Dad and brother being shown the door, which is disappointing given he's a professional footballer and is rated by the club/fans. Is best 22 when fit and offers something few in our side do.

Also rather keep Matty Kennedy but if he helped us get Saad or a big midfield target, that's the business we're in.

If JSOS goes, best of luck to him. Being honest, he's always been on the fringe for us anyway - happy enough if we retain him, but equally happy if we can turn a player who is only "maybe" in our starting 22 into something else of value.

He's contracted for next year though, so if either party (club or him) are dead set keen on him staying then they'd be able to ensure it happens.
