Just like to thank Aphrodite and the other Carlton mods who started the Bluemours NON Discussion Thread and who have kept it free of chat over the past few years.

It helps so much when you just don't have the time to read through this thread, cheers and great job.

Like with Darcy Lang?

Geelong are chock full of picks this year when we haven't seen U18s play and the lists are getting smaller. Not sure a 3rd rounder would be of much interest. Maybe a swap of seconds of a future pick. He suffers from being too similar a player to Parfitt and maybe Fisher in our side.
Billy Smedts....

no thanks. Done with injury prone fringe players. We’ve had our Full quota of those over the years. Proven commodities only please.

and throw in the Geelong dimension? It becomes a very hard no.

I agree. Due to our aggressive rebuild we've got a quantity of young talent who MIGHT make it. We don't need to be adding more.

We need 1 or 2 proven commodities in the prime age range.

Okay, fair enough. Thought it would need to be one or the other now that Williams is Carlton bound and Graham might wait until after the finals to decide where he is playing next year.

Nah, I doubt it.

End of last season we were after Coniglio, Papley and Martin...and had the space to land all three.

Every chance we have even more space at the end of this year with the way we have set things up, as well as the likes of Simpson, Kreuzer off the books, and very few (if any) of our recent re-signings commanding more $ than their previous contracts.

Graham, Saad won't be on huge money.

I dare say we'll have more than enough room for Williams, Graham, Saad and then some.

Presumed we got him as steak knives like Smedts. I stand corrected, dont trade with Geelong, they have our number.

Williams isn’t worth the $750k that’s been flouted around, $450-500 max.

My key wants for 2021 that won’t cost a kings ransom.
A. Saad. Good replacement for Simmo with plenty of upside.
B Crouch.
McGovern to halfback or trade him.
kicking coach.

Destination club yet again...pretty sure a number of clubs were interested in Graham.

Great news that this report is very clear that it's between us and Richmond...not even a hint of other clubs being in the mix.

Would be a good get because while a big body who can win contested ball, the guy has speed and can run so doesn't make us slow like we've been at times this year.

Does he have speed? He definitely isn't Matt Kennedy, but I dont remember him having legit speed.

Regardless, he'd be a great acquisition. Would come much cheaper than Viney contract wise but would cost a lateish 2nd round pick.

Wonder who the club would prioritise of those 2.

Graham is of the right age group to go through with Walsh and Setterfield, and comes ready to go and will eventually take over Curnow's role as our go-to tagger who can win his own ball competently.

Pretty sure B Crouch isn't moving for anything less than 700k.

Well personally I think Dows speed is overrated. But aside from that he does try to burst away from stoppages all the time, just doesn't often do it successfully.

Viney doesn't even try to do it.
Viney's not a very smart footballer who specifically looks for contact.
A big NO THANKS from me.

$450-500k max haha yeah good one

Crouch will be asking for $700k+, he was chasing 7 figures last year for ****s sake!

If we’re not giving up high draft picks, he’s worth it.

When a quality player puts themselves in the open market, it doesn’t come cheap for the buyer.

The fact he hasn't said it publicly means nothing. More than anything Cripps craves success, that is what drives him. He won't just hang around until close to the end of his career if he doesn't see some real improvement. Next year is critical in that regard.
If there's no finals appearance next year I'd think he'll go.
He's said publicly numerous times he's not going home.

Hmmm...

How many posters will come out in support of the Pres, CEO, LM, Coach, HoF and whoever else for "managing this situation professionally and maturely to ensure the club remains a harmonious environment"?

Because I'm tipping if Jack were to leave, there'd be plenty of comments to the contrary.

That aside - if this is true, I'm glad. Always feel like I want to find a spot for JSOS in the 22, and while I don't always do so I think he's still a better than even chance of playing 15-20 games next year if he stays fit. Good player to have in the side or on the edge of selection for a number of reasons.
Arrow and Stamos were correct in writing that the club has much to answer for. Regardless of whether he stays or leaves, it should not have got to this point.
