Mark Stevens reporting * have upped their offer to 5 years and will match $ to keep Saad
But why would he want to stay there? They have been touted as being on moving up the ladder for the past 3 years and look at where they are now.
As for the current coach he has, in fact, been coaching the team for the past year and look at where they are now.

Essendon is in turmoil. They are almost certain to lose Daniher and they have a number of disgruntled senior players.

By contrast there is an atmosphere of justifiable optimism at Carlton which arises out of all the hard work done by all during the re-build from 2015.

Why stay at Essendon if you are Saad?

We can debate for years on why Saad would want to stay at * but bottom line is our ITK's have mostly mentioned it being based on years of contract. If * match the 5 years with decent $$$ I just don't see us having a chance. I still feel (and this is just opinion) if Merrett is indeed disgruntled as stated in the media throw two first rounders for him. May be a long shot but he would be perfect for us.

Boots "n" All move by *

If Saad bolts from them now, there is no other narrative other than that club stinks to high heaven atm.

They love a narrative at * and have well placed propagandists in place to narrate. But even the propagandists are restless. If Saad bolts after they've matched all terms, it might just fester out of control out at Tulla.

Moving clubs/jobs has more factors than that...

I think they will end up in the same place we did five years ago.

Woosha was hinting at it a few weeks back.

What's narkle done to make you think he's worth more than that? Has injury issues and never been a consistent performer.
What's Nark(le) got to do, got to do with it
What's Nark(le) but a second hand midfielder

If you surveyed every player in the league, 95% would vote to stay at their current club.

Not many players move clubs within their state unless its for money/tenure.
I have an intuitive feeling that Saad fits into your 5%. Let’s wait and see.

surely it won’t be to much longer before Saad makes his decision?
He has no rush to make his decision, what are we 5 weeks away from the start of trade?

Even if he does make his decision, you have to ask how does it make the move easier or work in his favour or the new clubs favour to announce it?

If he decides to go now, Essendon will decide if it’s public and “officially public” like GWS did with Williams & it’s not on there interest, just plays with the “club in trouble narrative”. If you are the club he has said he wants to go to, it isn’t in your interest to play it out publicly as Essendon don’t want it public.

the only way we find out is if it leaks to the media and their attitude goes like Williams, it’s happening etc.

Id suggest it’s 5 more weeks of speculation

Yep. Ironically, if there is a major exit now then they can address their problems quicker.

If they keep pretending throughout the Club, and keep patching, their hard truth moment will keep getting pushed back.

Yep, they will end up like norf is about to.

He's gotten possession and taken off.

He has bounced the ball three times.

Still hasn't looked up yet, though.

When he does he will Harry leading straight at him.

Now he has a decision to make: put it in front of Harry, or kick it on the full and give possession to *.

If I am Saad I am waiting to see what comes in for Daniher, Fantasia and other deals first.

If they end up with all draft picks and lose 3-4 senior players then I am out of there as well.
Who wants to play through a rebuild with that rabble.
