There have been some years on here where I haven't won POTY. But it doesn't bother me at all. Not one bit.

I mean I am completely over the corrupt, pathetic, morally bankrupt and misguided mod panel who clearly don't appreciate genius when they see it. They probably would have given a lifetime ban to Galileo or made Alan Turing join the North board.

But as you can see, I don't let it get to me. I am way too noble to display my frustration in public.

You wouldn't want to win an award they would give to people like you anyway ...

Yep - Getting Oliver and Hunter into our current midfield and adding Williams and Saad for run would be pretty nice.
You'd give up a round 1 pick for Oliver for instance. No arguments.
They'll want more than a single 1st round for Clarry. If we're looking at splitting our 7 with Brisbane or Geelong, then Melbourne will want a hell of a lot more than a paltry late 1st rounder.

Exactly, when he was fit. Years ago. He's cooked and will never get back there. There's a reason Essendon fans couldn't give a rat's about losing him and a hoping he goes.

That’s because they know he’s going....the old “never wanted him anyway” response you get when you don’t get the player you want.

Daniher is a gun when fit, he may never be fit again who knows but if he does get back to close to 100% consistently then he’s a bonafide too 5 forward in the comp

I'd actually love him to kick 60+ as the main target for Brisbane next year... capping his year off with a bag against *. JD kicks 6 on Hurley, Hipwood 4 on Hooker, Cameron another half dozen against whoever is left as a speedy small defender...

Well they're likely to play off in the Grand Final this year without the 2 players I mentioned.

You don't rate Daniher? He kicked 70 goals (and probably missed just as many) in his last season he was fit...

I hear you. Agree the stats are good, and it's just my opinion, but the crucial comment is "in his last season he was fit"

Haha do yourselves a favour and check out that post from Fish on his Insta...swipe across to watch the video. Hilarious. Gotta love Gibbons.

Our group seems a happy group...which is why you don't really see anyone we really want to keep leave.

Idjiot. :p

Williams in the yabby trap and teasing Saad in with a chop tied to a bit of string.

All this talk of getting those two and Hunter and Oliver is classic BF post-season stuff, it's like being in a room full of Augustus Gloops. We don't need to be greedy. Williams and Saad will be amazing and still give us room to grow the kids, in terms of money and opportunity.

What position do you think Higgins plays? Show me what players average 16 possessions and a goal a game? He isn’t a small forward, not sure why a goal a game is some sort of benchmark.

What makes you think he’s dumb?
Well I've mostly seen him play as a small forward. Most people tend to talk about him in terms of a small forward role. He's listed on footywire and Richmond sites as a forward, so...
Why don't you tell me what position he plays then?
Not sure why 16 possessions and a goal a game is your benchmark. Higgins hasn't even done that (was close in 2018 - 15 goals from 20 games).
If we were to get him with the intention of playing him as a small forward, I don't think it's unreasonable to want 25 goals as a minimum. Maybe he's capable of that. I don't see it.
If we were to get him with the intention of playing him as a mid, I don't think it's unreasonable to expect someone that can come straight in and contribute 20+ touches a game. I don't see that happening.
I guess the question is, what are we looking to play him as? If it's a mid, there's much better targets to look at. I don't see him as best 22. We need to bringing players in that are straight up best 22 and push some of the current best 22 to the 23-26 range.
PERSONAL OPINION:
If he's a forward, he doesn't get enough goals (plenty of time for him to improve on that).
If he's a mid, he doesn't get enough of the ball (plenty of time for him to improve on that).
If he's a 'hybrid' mid/fwd, I'd prefer Fisher, Cuningham, Gibbons, Martin in that role. Then you've got other guys that aren't as small but float between mid/fwd like Silvagni, Dow, SPS (previously played that role), Murphy (now spending less time in the guts), Kennedy. Still have to find room for Kemp. Haven't seen much of Philp, Honey, Phillips, Owies and Cottrell.

I don't see that he necessarily makes us better. Happy for others to disagree.

Don't want to dwell on the mental acuity too much, was more of a passing comment and don't want to get stuck into the bloke, I'm sure he's a nice enough guy. Every time I've seen/heard him speak, he struggles to form coherent sentences. Maybe he's just not a good public speaker (I can relate to that), but it came across more as not being the sharpest tool.

Anyway, I think I've justified my own personal opinion more than I really need to. Personally, I say no to chasing him (not that I have any say in it), and will leave it that.

Fish and Willow signed up is such great news...the positive news out of Carlton keep coming.

Hopefully list size/cap for 2021 gets sorted and we can announce re-signing of McKay & Cripps.
I think there's still Marchbank & Kennedy OOC as well though the latter could get traded - though in hindsight prob better off not getting McGovern and keeping Kennedy/JSOS for that third/fourth tall role.
Didn't Marchy already sign on?
Gov cops a lot of flak, but I reckon he'll prove everyone wrong when he's 100% fit and can actually play the 3rd tall role alongside Harry and Charlie. That's a dynamic, fast, mobile, big marking tall 3. Most teams would have trouble with those 3. I still have faith.

EDIT: Apologies for the triple up on Marchy's status. Didn't read ahead first.

Not Carlton related but on Perth radio this morning they were talking about West Coast's Josh Kennedy and whether he plays on next season.

Apparently West Coast have offered him a 1yr deal on a reduced contract but apparently there is another club out there offering him a 2yr $2mill deal
