My wish list
Teague and basically all the assistances gone
Russell gone
Lloyd gone
Liddell possibly gone
I'd give Russell a second chance.
Sometimes bad luck with injuries is just ****ing tough to hold someone responsible for.

The one thing I would add, is seeing him trying to be more than head fitness guy and extending into football team stuff I just have my doubt on. Stick to area you an expert in. Rather than that be a knock om him, for me it a knock of someone asking him to go into those areas that not really his domain of expertise. I suspect Liddle or Lloyd, or both responsible for that and not really hold it against him. He should just be the head fitness program guy and nothing else.

I think SOS was more upset by the salary offered to Betts than his actual recruitment.

Wasn't Liddle involved with the big money pursuit of Mitch McGovern? attempted Ellis recruitment?

He needs to understand his remit and stick to it.

Ellis had been great for GCS until he got injured.

Exactly the kind of wing we need.

Not sure if I am agreeing with you or not, but...

I don't think we turn the ball over more than other teams. I think the problem is that once we do turn the ball over, we have no structure and/or pressure to win the ball back and stop the turnover from resulting in a score.

Without looking at the stats, I'd say our # of turnovers would be mid-table, but the likelihood of opponent scoring off our turnovers would be the worst in the league (or close to).

Which is all about system, gameplan, discipline and effort.
Well said amigo. I concur 100%.

Add the board to that list
And all players except Walsh, weitering and McKay and hit this draft hard
While we’re at it, let’s rename Carlton as it’s toxic and reeks of lack of success, perhaps to a bordering suburb? Maybe “Clifton Hill Mountaineers”

I personally would love kouta to do Russells job
Would bring football knowledge as well
And passionate for the club
Kouta has passion for club like average supporter. Not sure what else he has of note. He played in one premiership season in all his career and was there when it all fell apart. It a mixed bag for mine. I kind of already feel burnt with going with Teague that part of the same falling apart culture of club. Just need a fresh break from it all, personally. Teague and Kouta just feels like too much of Pagan era of club which probably the most darkest period of football department period this century. More a feeling of let's not push our luck going there than anything against Kouta personally.

Not sure he'd be up to the recovery/rehab/prevention side of things.

I'd love for him to be involved in the club somehow, though. He's said numerous times over the years he'd love to help out and would jump at the chance if asked. Not sure why you wouldn't want someone like that around at least as a mentor, if not assistant on the fitness team. A former superstar of the club who is still elite fitness wise would be excellent as a mentor I'd have thought. Could help some guys handle the stardom side of things as well as guidance on diet/fitness.

I was going to make the argument that his lack has been compensated for by Newnes, but then I had a look.

Ellis averaged 5 more possessions a game last year, and 8 this year. He averages 2 more marks a game, and a tackle more a game. He averages a solitary clearance and clanger ahead of Newnes a game.

I'm going to make this clear: I didn't want Ellis then, and I'm glad we didn't take him, but he's comfortably outperformed Newnes statistically to this point. So you've ostensibly brought me over to your point of view.

Yeah its interesting SOS didn't want to overpay for wings as soon as he goes in comes Saad for a large price and large salary.

Role player vs someone who didn't want to play defense. Why is Saad playing the wing role?

Ellis looks a whole lot shinier in hindsight!

Good point re:Newnes @Gethelred

The old Newnes was as good as Ellis.

He's just never been able to get back to that level.

Don't even know if it is true but have heard there are some large communication issues. Players not understanding what they're doing wrong and not getting guidance/ coaching. Feels unbelievable but its been a message across multiple people close enough that I've heard.

Worse thing would be that the coaches don’t know what the players are doing wrong in implementing the game plan

Ellis has given more than performance to the Suns, he's provided some leadership. It wasn't something associated with him at Richmond but he's really grown in that area with the Suns.

I must admit I didn't really want him at the time, but in retrospect he wouldn't have been the worst pickup. I don't bemoan it as one that got away, but it would've been a positive inclusion.

Then he is safe as houses, you only worry when they come and say "he has the full backing of the board".
Back when I was doing a weekly newspaper cartoon I did a well received 3 panel on that exact subject!

I don’t know who Fishsticks is and whether he’s Synbad reincarnate - but the information I have from a source whom I trust has fairly similar info, is that Teague will be moved on (probably announced in the week leading up to the last round), Lloyd gone as well, Cripps and Docherty will not be captains (more than likely Weitering with Walsh as VC) and Liddle on shaky ground.

Nothing on the favoured Coach at this stage as their are a number of candidates in play.
so complete and utter carnage then.

i welcome it
