He’d be better to take the $900,000 from hawthorn then try and get another $900,000 from Carlton.

Don't know for sure but my understanding is that hawthorn are on the hook for $900k less whatever he was to get from another club.

So if carlton were to pay him $900k hawthorn would owe him nothing. If that is the case we should use it to our advantage and back end any contract.

As I said though - there are a few assumptions going on here so we'll see how it plays out.

Clarko commands respect. It's that simple. He looks people in the eye and implicitly demands adherence to certain standards.

Most of our players will be shocked by such a situation (thank god Murph won't be around to see it, he wouldn't cope the little fella), but boy do they need it. They have all the talent in the world, just need someone who can harness it and channel their ability into a team-first, uncompromising, tough culture of winning at any cost.

Can't wait to see how this plays out.

Why? Is averaging 26 touches and 5 tackles a game this year after being left to rot in the VFL. Is actually a hardnut and would easily command a place in our midfield, won't be on big dollars either. Would be a sound addition to the list.

It's a fine balance.

Zac Williams has had to do it in his first year. First sign of straying from the plan and playing well, and he gets 'injured'.

Plow wasn't sure if anybody was noticing his lack of defensive running, so he took to the pink boots so David King had something to analyse.

Crippa lead from the front. Refused multiple first options, got tackled with the ball, argued with the umpires.

Walshy is a teacher's pet. Wouldn't take one from the team. Weitering couldn't compute what the aim was. JSOS ... noooo, hoity toity blueblood.
