Just had a quick look at Sydney's board apparently they are saying their salary cap is tight!!

Wow, if they are offloading him just for a meh pick for salary cap relief that's serious mismangement given they've been a bottom 6 team the last few years and in the last few years let go of Hanneberry and Jones.

Buddy contract still hurting? Sounds like a number of their players are being overpaid.

Then (hypothetically) how could they have brought Daniher in last year?

After last nights news on Charlie It was déjà vu every year these set backs happen and I’m over em
I’d like to say thank you to Austin and the team you’ve brought in 2 guns and possibly another in Fogarty with what we had in picks I think that’s overs in reality and I know Williams came free but he nominated us which is more important In the whole scheme of things keep it up well done

That's right I did. Because said poster was the one who was being a dick saying it wouldn't happen and come back if it did. So I did. Don't care anyway suspend or delete my account. Couldn't care less to be fair.
champ, cracking the sads on the dawn of a new era....move back to your previous position as a good poster.....leave the crystal ball stuff to the roma & temple......

I don’t get we why we didn’t go to the draft and select saad with 8 if we were going to do this deal and Essendon get absolutely nothing, we don’t get that extra pick but i would hazard a guess we could have got Fogarty with a future 3/4
Same reason as why we have all of the melts on here. We could not guarantee getting Saad in the ND or the PSD with all of the players with picks before us. The bullsh1t that no one will take him without a medical is just that. We had to broker a deal. Like most I believe a second rounder back would be fairer, but it is what it is. Deal not spectacular, but not disgusting.

The bottom line is we will be a better team, we have gone beyond the draft reliance where high picks are paramount. Barring a “marlin” through free agency or rage defection it will be incremental from here. Our TPP will be strained and must be carefully managed and our list changes will be minimal.

We will take two picks in the draft, probably a ruck and a forward. The other read is that we are comfortable where we are at with KPD back up. I read this as someone is coming out of contract next year we have already on the hook.

Saad will smash it.

A trade where we exchanged pick 8 for two lower picks and gave up one for Saad would’ve been great, but am not that fussed.

If we drafted a kid with 8 and it didn’t work out we’d be a little disappointed but move on.

However, if we spend it on a very good player that will immediately improve us as we enter our finals window, it’s almost world’s end.

Know it’s been said repeatedly, but a pick is only a pick. How good that pick is for a club depends on the draft talent available (which changes yearly), and where you sit on the ladder - higher up on the ladder then the pick can be much better spent on a ready made player that can play finals.
